My Prevx is version 3.0.1.65 but I see that there are newer versions than that. When I click 'update' it says "You are using the newest Prevx software". Apart from some version upgrades, have I missed something obvious? Is that check simply for definitions or is it supposed to tell me a newer version is available?

Thank in advance for any clarity you can give.

    Hi muf,

Can you please uninstall Prevx 3.0.1.65 and Reboot and download the newest 3.0.5.171 from Prevx at this link http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp and make sure you disable all other security before installing and have a copy of your license key as you will have to install it after the learning scan!

    HTH,

I am in same situation as muf and note how to get the latest version. However, I haven't grasped the situation: have Prevx not pushed any updates since 3.0.1.65 - if so why would that be? Is it still a release candidate? Or is there something not working properly with the update aspect of my software?

I would do as I instructed muf to do or if you want to try the latest RC 3.0.5.174 you can download here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=275231 it is very stable or Prevx would not release it! And since 3.0.1.65 there have been many updates and improvements and better detections so I would definitely update! Also the 3.0.5.xxx versions have been going on since October 2009.

Thanks for the guidance, TH, I appreciate you taking the time. I'll get on and update.
But, I must confess to being puzzled: as 3.0.5.171 is the latest version why has my software not updated? I have 'update and apply' checked under configuration and every time I click on 'check for updates' on the GUI, I am informed that I have the latest software.....strange.

I'm not sure why as I always update to the latest RC when there is one! But maybe Joe (PrevxHelp) can add more info when he sees this thread! ;)

You're correct in that we haven't pushed out updates to many of our 3.0.1.65 users. The 3.0.5.x line has had many additions and we've waited until they've become fully stable. We're also in the process of a major central database upgrade and once this is completed, we will be pushing out the upgrade to all users to use the new database going forward :)
