Prevent Scan Being Cancelled

    Hi,

    just after a bit of advice....

    how can I stop users cancelling a scan started by the scheduler or from the ERA console on an Endpoint Antivirus client ?

    Hello,

    I assume that you sent the scan task from Remote Administrator and the client cancelled the scan by opening the GUI > Clicked computer scan on the left side, then clicked the "bring to foreground" link and clicked the stop button.

    If all this is true, then you can set a password to protect the setup parameters and they will be prompted for that password when they click "bring to foreground". You can do so by following these instructions:

    1. Log into the RA console and click Tools > Policy manager.
    2. Highlight the policy you want to add a client password to, then click the edit button on the right.
    3. Expand Windows desktop v5 > Kernel > settings > Protect setup parameters.
    4. Click Password to unlock and click "Set password" on the right.
    5. Type the password twice and click OK, then save the policy.
    6. Click OK in the policy manager.

    After your client(s) check in again, they will have a password protecting the GUI from making changes to the configuration.
