Prevent access to a file?

What is a program that can prevent access to a file?

My game client has anticheat and messes with my "changed" game files .

Didn't know what section to post this in.

What anti-cheat/game?

 

Most any HIPS can do this. DriveSentry, for one example. Real-time Dfender for another.

 

with appranger also can block alot of bunch of file executables that can carry infections.

 

DefenseWall is another one.

 

There is a member here, Fyyre, who has a personal website, a .net I believe, with a way to overcome the anti-cheat software for multiple types of anti-cheat software. I believe a different patch for the different anti-cheat software. You will have to know what game and what anti-cheat is being used.

If your are looking for something specific as opposed to another security app. I think Fyyre's patches are more of what you need. An anti-anti-cheat software.

What if they develop an anti-anti-anti-cheat software? Not a problem. Someone will develop an anti-anti-anti-anti-cheat software to anti their anti-anti-anti-cheat software.

Can't stop sandboxing of child processes. Keeping the game in same sandbox as client dont work.

Can any other sandbox not sandbox child processes?

The anticheat has no hooks/dlls. Its a simple file check that found my files differenet so it deletes/overwrites it.

Im trying to sandbox the client only so it can modify the files but the game keeps original ones.

 

Your best bet, since it's an anti-cheat, is to modify it to not check the files.

 

I don't think thats possible. Even if i block access to the file the anticheat refuses to start the game. So the only choices i have left is sandboxing or hiding the file from the client. Any suggestions for these types of programs?

The sandboxing must not sandbox child processes.
