I really recommend KeePass to everyone. You can sync it on every device via the web (dropbox,ftp,sftp,ssh,what-ever) and fully replace any password manager. To log into my ftp-server via Filezilla I just run KeePass, select the login entry in KeePass and click "open". Filezilla will start and log in with the credentials given from KeePass. Works with nearly every program.
I still wonder if it's safe to run Thunderbird the whole day with my passwords saved in the password manager (but encrypted by using the master password).

 

I almost forgot about this thread, currently running EAM on all my x64 machines and OA + EAM on my desktop

 

How is EAM running for you on x64? I'm thinking of an Emsi + MBAM Pro combo just like on my laptop. I'll probably just use Windows firewall. My other antimalware options are Kaspersky IS, Avira paid av, Avast IS, Ad-Aware Pro, or MSE and will combo MBAM Pro with any of those that have no compatibility issues. I guess I'm most interested in the ones that have a behavior monitor component that is least restricted by running on x64.

 

Ive been running the latest version for quite some time and I love it. This latest version seems much much lighter than previous versions.

 

Keeping it simple these days, ESET Nod32 Antivirus 5 + Sandboxie.

 

EAM runs great on my dad's laptop (Which i use personally, usually for school appointments since my dad rarely uses it now).
It runs buttery smooth with no lag BUT when you boot it up the first time after a few days, you might experience a bit of lag since the update can take a while

Does the 64 bit EAM require a restart once a day when Mamutu updates? I have EAM on my laptop but that is unavailable for me to check right now. Mamutu on 32 bit seems to need a restart every day on my 32 bit desktop.

 

Not that Ive seen. Ive been running it for roughly 3 months now. Only time a reboot is required is if the software is updated to a new version.

 

On my 32 bit machine I have Mamutu stand alone product and see it needs to restart itself pretty much every night. I would not be so irritated with it if it could do a scheduled restart or something like that. Otherwise Emsi is my favorite av right now.

I have 2 pc's running x64. Our main family desktop uses ESET AV 5 and the Windows 7 firewall, and my laptop uses EAM and OA premium. I have other security programs installed, such as MBAM and Hitman Pro, but I only used them on-demand.

May look like a lot but I consider it fairly light & letting mostly Windows protect Windows.

 

Its not just you. I was testing mamutu on my 64-bit machine and it does this. I think its a bug with mamutu. This does not happen with EAM though.

 

Hey guys I use ESET Smart Security with the IDS not always on because it really slows me down, I wanted to know what else I can use with ESET SS without severely affecting performance. The problems i get from IDS are when using Firefox all certificates bring up unsafe warning, and too many alerts from my other computers on network that I share files with. So I just use the ESET Antivirus, Firewall, and built-in sandbox. also use Slimdrivers, slimcleaner, ccleaner, registry repair wizard pro, and secunia psi to keep everything updated.
I do alot of penetration testing so I have had to configure eset to keep it from quarantining my hack tools! The only malware it finds is stuff that I use to penetration test. ie Cain, metasploit, backtrack 5,etc...

I've been running along time without any nasties, using:

Shadow Defender Shadow Mode only for on line

Avast Free - Only to let me know when, I should reboot SD, for quite sometime no AV as deemed not needed with SD

SAS Pro - Only because I won a lifetime license. On demand scans never finds anything, due to SD.

WOT - In order not to reboot, SD again

Spywareblaster - Old habit from pre SD days.

Macrium Reflect (paid) weekly BU.

So far SD is all that's required IMO, until SD like apps become more prevalent.
