here are some podcasts to listen to. you don't need an ipod they will play in your media player. however, because apple is really the first big company to get involved alot of podcasts are starting to be formated for ipods so you'll need a media player that supports alot of formats. i like VLC media player.

i might as well give a link to some podcast software :D all a podcast is is an audio broadcast like radio that uses RSS tags. the podcast software will keep track of the podcast feed tags and when a new cast is put on the page will automatically start downloading the show. alot of people just leave the software running overnight then download the new stuff to their ipods in the morning. here's a free podcast program
    http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/
so on a link that has a podcast you would drag the little orange podcast feed to this program

Hey, thanks for the info Iceni60. Could you answer a question I have 'bout Podcasting? Is it like listening to streaming radio? What's the diff between listening to streaming radio and Podcasts? Thanks.

streaming is mainly live but doesn't have to be, but to listen to a normal stream you would go to a link or tune into a radio staion then listen. you have to listen as it's played or you miss it. unless you are really a keen follower you will likely miss alot of shows. all-in-all people don't listen much to, or even have, favourite shows because it doesn't fit into daily life. even streams that are pre-recorded don't get listened to much because people just forget about them and end up doing something else.

with podcasting you only need to go to the show's site once, you'd then subscribe to the show with your podcast software then that software would automatically download the show the same time it is aired so all your favourite shows will go directly to your computer's HDD. you can then listen to any of the shows when you like and you won't ever miss them. you don't need to think about when or how you will listen to something, so in the end you end up listening to more things you like.
