    Hi,

I am willing to buy a brand new router.
However, I don't have any idea on which brand or product is good.

Please recommend me a nice router,

    1. hopefully average price (comapring to other products)

    2. I hope it has a HARDWARE FIREWALL (NAT?SPI?)

    3. router for wireless connection (I mostly use my current router for wireless connection for my laptop)

    Thanks!

    Thanks all,
I think Linksys will be a fairly good choice.

    I think it is adsl.

    Hi guys,

    I'm either going to buy

    Netgear WGR614 or Linksys WRT54G

Can anyone choose one for me?

    I see Netgear WGR614 has a NAT/SPI firewall attached,
but I'm no so sure with Linksys WRT54G.

They are both the same price in my country.

    Help!!!! Thanks!

    Nevermind,
    I just ordered Netgear WGR614.
I like the design and it seems to have NAT/SPI firewall.
Netgear seems to be a good brand,
so I'll just have to wait until it comes. :)

Should be fine. All home grade routers come with NAT, that's how they work. Just about all now have SPI, although the benefits of that are usually debated..it's a very basic SPI. The Linksys wrt54g model is a very old model now, replaced by a few generations of newer models.

Now I myself have a hardware firewall (NAT/SPI) thingy going on!
