please help

    The problem I am having is that the "about:blank" page is replacing my homepage no matter what I program my homepage to be. It always opens as "about:blank". Also, I am getting anti-spyware ads popping up on a regular basis. I followed the steps on your site and I used Spybot S&D for step one. Here are the contents of the "hijackthis" scan of my computer:

    Doubleclick it and install in folder of choice but on the root drive, most likely C:\

    1.Run start.bat and press option 1. 'output.txt' will be created in the folder
    post back with the output.txt log

    Thanks for the help.
    I downloaded dllfix and I had trouble running start.bat but I found the dillfix folder on my C drive, opened it, and then clicked on an icon that said start; this showed me some options. I picked option 1 (find all) and it presented an output log. I think in a round about way I did what you said (correct me it I am wrong). Here is the output log:

    Hi boulder,

    Run start.bat again and choose option 2. Hit '1' and enter dll name manually:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\PIGNLA.DLL

    Download and run AdAware : http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ (make sure you have latest updates) and run it.

    You can also run CWShredder finally to clean up other entries

    Post a new log when you are done, so we can see if everything worked out as planned.

    I ran start.bat, chose option 2, entered dll name manually. Then I ran adaware and cwshredder. I reprogramed my homepage and rebooted the computer. Then I surfed the web for a few minutes. So far there are no popups and my homepage has not returned to "about.blank". I ran start.bat again and picked option 1 to get another log to post (I hope that is the one you asked me to post). I will post it below, but I am curious about the log from the hijackthis scan; Do I need to fix any of the files listed in it or is that just for reference?
