    HI

I am not prone to whining in forums and can fix most of my own problems, so bear with me...
I am seriously about to go crazy trying to install V4, upgrading from v3.
I am a long time and happy ESET customer and have never had any problems.

After uninstalling v3 v4 starts installing and gets to "starting services."
I get a message stating that the ESET Service ekrn failed to start - verify that you have sufficient privileges to start services."

So, after, trying to 4am this morning and all night tonight (12:00am), I have been installing, uninstalling, registry cleaning, forums, et, et, et.
And simply can not get the program to install.
    So, I give.
I was using Outpost for a firewall, have uninstalled, hand picked through the registry, reinstalled, forums, et,et,et ad nausea.

If there are any solutions available, it would be most appreciated.

    Thanks for any help.

first, I had ESS V4 and gave up on it due to the firewall not letting me on the 'net.
Then I gave up on Nod32 V4 due to BSODs, so I'm back to NOD32 V3 and Outpost.

How do you search the registry ?
    What is your OS ?

ESET leaves 2 folders behind in the OS after an uninstall.
Program files and or Program Data

And a folder in Documents and Settings, dont know your OS so cant advise.

Sometimes the installation folder is not uninstalled and its been known for ekrn to not be uninstalled.

    Anyway, search your OS.

I'd suggest running the msi installer with the parameter "/lvx* install.log" (without speech marks) and sending the created log install.log to customer care for perusal.
