Programs i have on my system are adware,spyware-search and destroy,AVG anti-virus,hijachthis,cws shredder and zone alarm firewall which are all regularly updated. With help and guidance from you guys at wilders security,we got rid of a persistent trojan which was nesting in my system back about a month ago.Seems that another one decided to take up residence in my system but not as bad as previous one i think. AVG anti-virus detected a trojan called Startpage.DM/SOUNDMX.EXE. which i locked away in its virus vault but have not yet deleted. My computer is running fine. Not sure if its safe to delete it from the vault or should i go through the same process as before boot in safe mode / tick soundmx.exe entry listed in the log below / run cwsshredder.exe and click "FIX" / reboot normally / check problems with Spybot S&D and remove all in red / then run adware process then reboot or should I just simply delete it from the vault and be done with it. Below is my Hijackthis log Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

    Hi eone,

Check the item below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Soundmx] \soundmx.exe

    Download and run: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
Use the Fix button and follow the instructions you will receive.

    Then reboot.

    Regards,

    Pieter
