maybe i've had too many drinks, but that sounded like an awsome line, so i just used it on my wife. she looked at me all shocked, then asked, "what did you do?". i said, "nothing, i just love you dearly". now she won't shut up and is accusing me of doing something wrong. although i did nothing! looks like it's gonna be a long night, thanx dog!

LOL Sorry ... I'll post warnings from now on. I guess it was just shock. :p :D ~trouble maker~

Keep going with thinking, feeling that way though. It'll be a good opportunity to celebrate Valentines Day ... after this is blown over, otherwise it'll seem like a makeup ploy, which it shouldn't ever be. Don't ever worry about the date on the calender - Celebrate it several times a year (completely random). She'll love that, all Women love to be treated like the Queens they are. ;)

Though I'm sure you only meant to play, but your post # 46 - here would be best to be 'altered'.... or removed. ;)
You wouldn't want your wife to get mad at you. ;)

And only single sweeties are allowed, LOL !! :D

    Sorry BB & Nat, ;)

I had no intention to offend anyone. Seeing the pictures of friends here is great, I really do like it. I'm just shy and self-conscious. ;) But to me, it has the feeling of a beauty contest. I know that isn't intend, but it just the way I feel it. (no offence intended). To me physical beauty, is such a small part of what makes anyone beautiful to me. Beauty is so subjective. It's funny, you can take societies stereotypical standard for physical beauty, match that with a few less than endearing qualities, and your presented with an opposing picture. I see beauty from within, without getting detailed, I'm simply attracted by personality. I have very fond feelings for all of the regulars here (staff and members) ... I have wonderful images in my head of what everyone looks, and it is so nice to see the personality, before the picture.

My only concern is that someone may get hurt, not from one of us intentionally, but written words can be easily misinterpreted, or it could be one of those passing trolls  that pop up from time to time, posting something offensive. I would feel terrible, no matter who it was. Remember the last "Show Me your Picture" thread, had an unfortunate incident as such.

I probably shouldn't have posted this, but I felt I had to express my feelings. I certainly don't intend to offend anyone. My apologies if it does. ;)

I agree with Dog regarding the piccies.

I have had my picture up on other boards, and have also had that terrible feeling that my face is tacked to someone's dart board.

Usually, I have either taken my picture back down or asked the administrators to do it for me.

You all will just have to take my word for it - I AM GORGEOUS! :D

Dog...good post, and I'm not offended at all. :)

I respect people's shyness..even though it may not seem so. ;) Me, or BB
"bugging" you all about showing is merely why, the reasons posted by us recently. :) Just to see whom we've been communicating with...

And, OMG..."Beauty-contest". No Way !! This is not what this thread is about. We all look different. Doesn't matter.

We certainly don't force anyone to post their picture on here. It's all up to You all if you like to, or not :)
It's just nice to see, you know ? All just for fun.

If we give compliments..oh well. I hope it makes the person feel good. I like giving compliments...and not only about someones looks. In real life even...I say other nice things to anyone I come across. And always mean what I say.

In my life it happened quite a few times that I've felt attracted to someone, even before I saw the persons face.
It's all about chemistry, I think. And personality, of course. ;)

Please, don't think of it here as a "meat market" - or show off thread, OK ?
It's not like a dating service, if you know what I mean, lol.

Trust me ~ I can be a very serious person...but in 10-F I believe most of us here just want to have some fun. :)

To me, personality comes first. Not looks.

Thanks for posting this Steve. I like when people let me know how they feel.

I'm sure there's something else I'd like to add to this...but I'm getting slightly tired and can't think of anymore...:doubt:

So, with this said. Anyone please post their pic, if they like ~ if not...not a big deal. :-*

    Still luv ya all....

While we certainly agree, and I also believe "the regulars" here would also concede this. It's a rarity in society, and is a testament to the quality of people here. ;)

    ~Warning, I'm about to ramble on~ :p

Without saying what my profession is, my work has me interacting with all walks of life, from all social classes. I find/see many of my co-workers, quickly judge the book by the cover, which is rarely the case. I'm not commenting only on physical appearance, but social status, professions etc.

As a generic example of such a thing, which is quite common in Canada, we are a very multicultural nation, and have many new immigrants (which we all were at some point). People generally look down at the security guard, cleaner, cabbie etc.; to which new immigrants generally hold these jobs. Which isn't right regardless of circumstance. Many see themselves as better than these people because in their estimation these are jobs for a lower class than they are. What anyone does shouldn't ever define who they are, neither should wealth or anything else along these lines. It's especially funny, here in Canada, as many of these new immigrants can only work these jobs as the go thru the process of updating their trained skill set, to qualify/match Canadian standards, be it a doctor, engineer etc. whatever. In that case, merely judging the book by the cover, who's better than who?

On the other end of the spectrum, I also know a few well known people, stars if you will, (TV personalities, Pro Hockey Players, Musicians, Politicians etc.). Many are simply star-struck and don't have the ability to interact with these individuals, which is extremely sad. Had I suffered from this, my experiences would be diminished, and I would be less of a person, for the loss of these interactions, and a few friendships to have never have been gained.

There are many reasons, I don't look up or down at anyone, these are a few. I see everyone as an equal, wealth, social standing etc. don't impress me either way. I base my judgement, on who you are inside, what makes you tick, how you think, how you care etc etc., I certainly don't like everyone I know, nobody does, but I'd never judge anyone on appearances alone. But sadly many do, and I guess that's the whole issue I have.

I could go on and on. :p But this discombobulated semi-rant will suffice. No offence intended to anyone. ;)

    ~Incomplete ramble off~

Warm Regards to all, you are a truly a special bunch and I hold you all dearly. ;)

I reckon the 'Lets have a look at your Kisser', probably had as much chance of taking off as 'Where in the World' Thread......32968 Views...803 Replies!!?? and that was only asking which Country or Town etc., you resided in..... :'(

In my opinion, if your the sort of person who even ventures into 10F, then, picture or not, you can't be, by definition, UGLY, MISERABLE, or SHY..... :D :D :D SO STOP PRETENDING, AND STOP PLAYING HARD TO GET... :D :D :-* :-* ;)......Live a little, throw caution to the Winds, be daring, you know you want to....... :p

    Cochise,

Oh!... Sorry dog Mate, what was that you were ranting about, I wasn't paying attention..... :D :D :-*

Let me explain after this next comment.....I would rather not see your pictures

This is because I build up a mental picture of how each and every one of you are. How I think you look, your occupation/schooling, what your lifestyle is ect, ect. Most of you are simple fascinating people in my head(not that you are not in real life). I want to keep it this way, with you being how I think you are.

I can tell you that many people have mental pictures of people they admire, then they find out to much about them and it ruins it sometimes.

I am very politically invovled, to the extent that I have not only sat beside Prime Ministers, but have worked with them (I know, I just ruined the picture you had of me). Anyways, I have met legislators who I thought from TV and print looked to be absolutely amazing persons. Then I met them, and they turned out to be absolute idiots.

    Well thats my 2 pennies!!

LOL ~ good one Miss greyfox ! [IMG]

P.S. I don't know what it is with me...but after a while, the mental image (fantasy, if you will), is just what it is. Pure fantasy.

I rather show the real me, and hope that my character matches up with it, lol.

It's especially handy and nice seeing someones face, if you're planning on staying in contact...

Or would you like in "real" life even, meet and talk to someone that wears a mask everytime you see him or her ?? :doubt:

To me, the virtual world is connected with the real one.
There are real people behind that screen of mine....:) :) :)
