Persistent dialer

It would seem that I have been targeted by a rather nasty and persistent dialer called 1on1 xxxdialer, apparently by a company called edvansolutions.
It installs itself and automatically disconects my dialup connection and starts dialing its own premium rate number. Is this legal?
I have repeatedly uninstalled it (together with the hidden files I can find) and even restored my system to earler dates, but it just doesn't stop it reinstalling itself.
Will SpywareBlaster get a patch for this problem soon? It really is very intrusive.

 

www.modemhelp.net have some extensive Forum room comments on 1to1. People there have launched an assault on the civic leaders of Miramar where Edvan Solutions are based. The Vice Mayor.... say no more... is passing on all complaints to the Miramar Poice. BT are also very helpful. If you email help@edvansolutions.com they may mail you back saying they will refund any charges.... well they may! I have emailed them, local Florida newspapers, City Commissioners etc... This company cannot be allowed to get away with this scam which is clearly targetted at the UK! Hence the notice about telephone charges at £1.50 a minute!
This is the email address of the only City Official who has replied to emails from the UK. Shari Covington is the Vice Mayor and a City Commissioner.

Edvan Solutions of Miramar are the source of this internet scam fraud! Local government in Miramar are totally ineffectual. I see on one website victims have emailed the State Governor Jeb Bush, local churches, Mayor, Vice Mayor, City Commissioners, local newspapers, US TV... Everybody who has been hit by this virus should do the same! Let's bring the culprits to justice! Do not pay any phone phone bill where charges to this company exist! Contact your local MP, travel agent, airline.... Ban holidays to Florida until the Officials there stop this scam! By their lack of action, they are sanctioning porn being sent to computers where children may be watching. The constant dialler has put businesses at risk. Email

Hmmmm,

I just came across this forum while looking for info on Edvan Solutions. I've been trying to track down this spammer/scammer for a few months now, and think I can claim at least partial credit for getting most of his UK premium rate lines disconnected. Getting his sites removed from voila and gratisweb is proving more difficult, as Wanadoo seem to be sticking their heads in the sand about it.

Info I've just received from ICSTIS says the company is registered to Michelle Arjon (sp?) so it could be a husband & wife team?

A lot of UK users have been getting huge numbers of these spams every day - sometimes as many as 300, and I've had several people contact me saying their children are on the receiving end of them. I'm now looking into the legal implications of this, and even though he/she's based in the US, I'd hope that some sort of charges could be brought.

I'd be interested to hear what progress others have made in dealing with this.

 

I have just received my phone bill and yet again more charges from Edvan Solutions. I have e-mailed them and Shari Covington and am awaiting a reply - but not holding my breath.

BT weren't interested and said if I want a refund I need to contact Edvan. BT surely have the ability to ban Edvan numbers from their systems.

There must be a way to stop these parasites.
