    Hi Jo Ann,
Installation of PE Guard will change your OS settings, so you would get a warning about that if you have another HIPS. And this maybe a FP of NIS' Sonar.

Be sure that PE Guard is 100% clean from viruses/trojans.. and any other malicious contents. :)

    See this link from Softpedia:
    http://www.softpedia.com/progClean/PE-GUARD-Clean-138558.html
(this is for 2.1 ver, as I haven't submitted the new ver yet)

Also, you are in a security geek forums;) and if PE Guard was not clean somone will post so.

    Opaida.

    Hi opaida,

That's precisely why I posted what I did (in my prior post)! I am far from being a PC novice and as NIS is very trustworthy I am naturally concerned when it blocks (and quarantines) PE Guard as being a "High Risk"!!!

    Regards,
    Jo Ann

PS. My laptop (on which PE Guard was installed) is running WinXP SP3

I am giving PE Guard 2 a trial. Couple of questions:
Is there any kind of learning mode?
How do you get PEG to remember decision so I don't get pop-up alert next time I run same program?
Is there any way to export a rule list so If anything happens and you reinstall PEG you don't have to relearn everything?

Very good questions G1111. Furthermore, PE Guard should be aware of well-known 'clean' tasks* and not even issue an alert for those tasks.

    * Such as ccSvcHst (essential to the funtioning of Norton security products).

You can save trusted processes by choosing 'Make Trust'. This feature is currently not available with 'Anti-Executable'.

My guess is "Let PE GUARD choose" in the options tab is some kind of white list. When I turn it on I don't get any alerts about Firefox, Outlook, etc. when I open them.

the anti-executable pop up alert should have some thing to check to remeber to allowed or denied to void getting same pop ups all the time;) :) for example when openig the brower:)
note:i noticed there is a 10 countdown to allowed when the pop up alerts are not answer:)it shouldnt be this way, instead they can add a feature in the pop up to remeber the allowed or denny answer:) my 200 mexican pesos:):)which maybe is equal to 2 cents:):) lol

Does the hang occur when you disable the Anti-Executable feature?

System hung after loading DefenseWall 3.07, ClearCloud DNS utility. Did not load MalwareBytes Anti-Malware or Emsisoft Anti-Malware. PE Guard was in Power Mode with AE enabled and "let PE Guard Choose" enabled. System is XP Pro SP3. With default settings, AE is disabled and let PEG choose disabled system boots normally.

why do you not create a forum on your own for feedback on your product instead of trying to do it here. Not a bad thing but more along a professional thing.:cautious:
