Agreed. I've been using this since the first public beta and expecting it to do really well in these type of tests but 100% even in a fairly small sample is still very impressive.

I know it's the nature of these tests and that FP's are an issue for some but it's hard to work out why 100% dynamic detection with 2 FP's is worse than 104 static and 13 dynamic misses. 8th in overall detection but first in the final analyses? Anyway, the report is very clear so those that take the time to go through it can make up their own minds.

Thanks to the PCSL guys for their efforts.

    Cheers

Really Ikarus+Emisoft + their own white list central database (OASIS) to reduce false positives.

Pretty safe bet I think! Then again if it didn't, having the back up of an inbuilt blacklister that consistently gets +98% in tests isn't too shabby either.:D

OT I know but the problem for some users with HIPS is how to make the right decisions. With OA++ that's made easier because if OA doesn't recognise the executable the AV element will scan it cutting down drastically the opportunity for users to make inappropriate HIPS decisions and thereby allowing malicious code to execute.

Anyway I'll say no more......starting to sound like a fanboy!

Yes.. thats why the combine their own central database to drastically reduce false positives... so you get the strenght of IK+A2 and reduced false positives.

We use the Emsi+Ikarus Engine, and OASIS to reduce FPs. We need to update our web help.
