Their new suspicious software warning system performed wonderfully in the leaktests, easily warning on 80 to 90% on the leaktests.

Also, TM has decent general patterns which picked up a few tests as TROJ_Generic.

My only major problem with pcc2007 is memory usage. At one point my TMproxy service was consuming 87MB of RAM on its own. I wrote to the beta mailbox and was told a new version would be forthcoming and may correct this problem

The beta team did promise that the next may use less memory but judging from their 2006 product, I am not convinced it will be optimized.

Surprisingly tech support lied to me. The new beta of TMIS 2007 should have been out atm. Just wondering if the US security firms are a bit outdated. :p

Trend confirmed that the housecall window is a work in progress and the current web page is just a placeholder.

Keep in mind that the next version of NOD32 will also be a suite bundle.

    Yes, Beta 2 was out.

I don't receive any notification for beta 2, but you can go to

    https://www.trendbeta.com/index.php?get=81

fill out the form again and you will be able to download beta 2 (PCC15Beta2Kit.zip)

The direct download link to beta 2 is the same as the beta 1 download. Simply use the same link and replace the filename with PCC15Beta2Kit.zip.

    Hi!

Beta 2 is using about 180Mb RAM :p

And it makes my PC running very sloooooow (AMD 64 3200+ 1GIG RAM).

do you see any other changes, minor UI changes or something?
also,do you get that registration prompt after every boot like the previous one?

No changes in UI , this version is worse than previous beta. One time registration is enough (i did not have any problems with registration when i used beta1).

I uninstalled Beta1 'cause of high memory usage and regular 100% CPU peaks.
Same story for this new beta. :doubt:

then it means that the mem-usage problem ur facing is not universal..coz i had no problems with beta-1.
i hope you have reported the problem to them, did they reply when beta-1 was being tested??

I too noticed that beta 2 is much worse than beta 1 as it relates to performance. All functions enabled with 3 IE windows open, beta 1 consumed between 100-120MB of RAM. Beta 2 consumes between 180-200MB.

I don't know if Trend is getting the message but they really need to optimize their code. I also noticed a 5-12% increase in processor usage during normal PC operations.

    Cheers

    Hi!

I had high mem usage with beta 1 too, but NO slow down.
Beta 2 has VERY high mem usage also, AND slows down my laptop.

IMO, mem usage might be universal (please read edwark's post). :ouch:

I reported problems with beta 1 and will do the same with beta 2.
