parental control , could be Squid valid ?

i'm looking for a parental control

i want to install on my friend's laptop , in a limeted account (his young son)


does someone has some have feedbacks about this program?

is a valid paretal control ?

squid is a caching server app I do believe. For speeding up commonly visited sites by caching, for blocking sites and/or content.

squid guard is a tool used with squid that lets you do more, like groups and users I believe.

I think squid usually is installed on a server, and then the client sets thier proxy to the squid box.

Parental controls, for controlling what children are seeing, as in blocking undesirable material? What about the router itself? Many have features you could use.

 

I don't know Squid but maybe those apps could be some good alternative?
