Paragon: see https://www.paragon-software.com/landing-pages/2017/hard-disk-manager-windows10-creators-update/ IFW v. 2: use v. 3. See http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ucf/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2551.
known problems for older paragon software - and same hitted teracopy and some more products. thats why it not recommended to update to CU, in fact there exists a heavy problem for DATEV and CU
As long as the NTFS file system does not change, these disk imaging software will always work if you only use the boot media and do backups offline.
I´m not so sure if the boot medium is based on 1703 (WinRE built from a 1703 installation, or WinPE build with WADK for 1703).
I just checked my Win10 1703 TBWinRE and TBWinPE (built using WADK 1703). V2 imagew64.exe works in both.
Doesn't matter at all. You can even use a Win8 x64 as source to built the PE. It can still back up 1703 OS on any computer, as long as you do offline backup.
My point was a rather obvious one. Assuming there are incompatibilities between v.2 and 1703, those incompatibilities can also exist in a boot medium based on 1703 which is used to run v.2.
Robin, your point makes sense but there are no incompatibilities with V2 and boot media based on 1703.
