Bitdefender trafficlight (the OS cross browser version) while offering amazing protection, slowed my browsing down to a crawl and sometimes while just browsing I would check its RAM usage and it would be up near 80mb

While Panda Url filter isnt as "advanced" as Trafficlight is Through my testing the blocking of malicious websites is pretty amazing And while monitering its RAM usage it have never once breached 6mb on my system. Now if they can fix this late start problem.

If you don't have the URL Filter installed the blocked page will not appear and the browser will continue to load the test page.

    What start problem?

Tried BD Traffic Light but my FF went to 100% CPU so got rid of it. K9 protection seems so much easier on resources.

Traffic Light is terrible.. High CPU spikes, slowdowns of browsing.. Ewww.. Junk.

I guess I stick with Bullguards Commtouch filtering, it's the fastest and strongest anyway, I was looking for an alternative for clients though.

The problem could possibly be a local one. Have you considered monitoring and researching other items that load during startup on your PC?

This problem is not local, more like a conflict consider all my clients I had it installed on (about 10 or so) when I monitored their systems had the same issues

Each system was windows 7 and Comodo Firewall installed on the system...so it seems like its a conflict between Panda Url Filter and Comodo in some form. I would like to see this fixed soon because today I went around and switched everyone over to K9 Web Protection.

    Sorry, Cheers!

Panda Cloud has had compatibility conflicts Comodo Firewall for over a year (based only on issues posted on the PCAV forum). Panda was not the source of the problem(s) but of course Panda could be guilty in this scenario. I may try replicating the issue if it helps any.

Oh no, Panda Land is reserved for all fans of Panda Security. A zoo would be the combination of an empty stomach and three boxes of animal crackers.

any idea when the Issue will be resolved between Panda and Comodo?

I don't mean to rant, but does nothing want to work with Comodo? lol Bitdefender has a hard time and now Panda! come on this is 2013 about time software/antvirus vendors have universal compatibility before launch...just my view on it :D

None. I've never asked Comodo but I do know it has ben mentioned to them in the past. Ibrad may know more about the issue than I, however.

Copy+paste from a post I made in the PCAV thread:

How does the URL filter works? Is it a blacklist of known-bad domains, or does it actually filter all the traffic? I've seen some ad placeholders showing something about Panda Security, I can't exactly read what i says because of the size of the placeholder but it looks a lot like when your DNS tells you domain is not available. I'm concerned about this since I don't want my traffic to be filtered. Input from the Panda team will be appreciated.

For those getting the blocking page even when URL Filter is not present, try this: www.cloudantivirus.com/testurlfilter
It looks like the link DBone pointed to needed to be shortened to just the last portion of it.
