Panda Cloud AV

it detected 70+ files on windows live mail on my system as Virus.univ. How can i report this file to panda?

Edit : after running a full scan it detected 2k files on my system as Virus.univ making my computer unuse-able. No files was found on recycle bin to restore the file... had to uninstall it to restore my computer to normal...

 

FYI

I just installed the demo Panda IS 2010. On the first scan it automatically "disinfected" the Prevx CSI qc.csi file.

If I change the Action Option from Automatically Disinfect to Delete would the qc.csi have been recoverable from the recycle bin?

Can a dangerous file do any damage while it is in the Recycle Bin?

Can i use PCAV free in school PCs? Or is is only free for home user?

 

i believe free for home computers only, but i may be wrong.

 

Right not it's in beta, so you may use it anywhere you'd like. However the normal recommendation during beta is not to install it in production systems.

Once out of beta it will be free for home use.

We're still evaluating if we will also make it free for non-profits / public schools or similar. Any suggestions and/or references to similar cases?

 

Can Panda Cloud be ran alongside other cloud products? I currently have Prevx running as well.

 

Not with any other AV products. P-CA is classed as an AV product and thus won't function properly with others, but Prevx on the other hand is designed to work along any other security products you may be running on your system.

Question if Panda Clould antivirus doesnt have a large user base for the cloud does that make it less secure of a product?

The community userbase aspect of the cloud is very important, but not the only one. In addition we also rely on local and cloud heuristics as well as cloud signatures (plus local cache for offline operation).

We don't rely only on what we see from the Cloud Antivirus community but also what we see from our other products and users, what we see from sample exchanges, user submissions, honeypots & honeymonkeys, and a large etc. All these "sources" of information are processed automatically by Collective Intelligence and delivered as cloud-detections to Cloud Antivirus.

Re: Beta3, it's slipped a bit. We're shooting for mid-October now.

 

Before I try this beta on my laptop would someone tell me its current strengths and potential issues in a nutshell?
