I'm not aware of any incompatibility with Steam. Running fine alongside Steam on my home machine.

    Pbust,

Will Panda Cloud let us know of the new version that is available for download?

Unfortunately, PCAV is not ready for most of my machines.

On the Vista laptops, high CPU usage (>40%) was also seen well after rebooting.

And on 2 out of 3 XP computers the AV had switched itself off but this was not seen in the tray icon. I only picked this up by opening up the main GUI.

So overall, PCAV appears promising but not yet ready for prime time on my computers.

Yes, it will show you a notification popup announcing the new version and download link.

We're still analyzing your logs Blackcat. Seems weird that this is happening as we have not had a similar incident with anybody else. Do you have any other security software, hips or security policy other then the personal firewalls you mentioned?

No, just the Windows firewall running and UAC enabled on the Vista machines.

Uninstalled PCAV for now but will still be interested with anything that David finds in the logs.

But I am willing to give the next bug-fix version a shot. Is it still due out this week?

This AV, for some reason, does not seem to like my machines but I cannot fault Panda's support. Pedro was very active with me on Saturday and Sunday and they are still analysing my logs.

So overall, support gets a big :thumb: :thumb: from me.

I just decided to give this a try since I hadn't tried it since the original public beta. I installed it on a virtual machine and tested it against about 50 different malware, old and new ones. Essentially the machine is left useless. It detected just over half of the malware, but did not stop the rest of them from getting in. I would love to see this program succeed as it does have an excellent theory behind it with the whole cloud technology, and it is very light on resources. Though, I think it is lacking in detections and behaviour analysis which might be a good idea to look at. Just my opinion.

Edit: after doing a full scan it seems to have cleared up all infections but nine.

Maybe PCAV is scanning and re-scanning everything that UAC is checking in kind of a loop. And UAC is checking panda and panda is checking UAC and so on.

Thanks for all your help Blackcat. It seems at the end you were running an earlier beta version of CloudAV. Please download the final version 1.0 from http://www.cloudantivirus.com. This issue you experienced (Beta2) is fixed already in Beta3 and Version 1.0.

Actually it was just a known issue with Beta2. Simply upgrading to version 1.0 fixes the issue.

No. I have already told David that it was version 1 that I had installed.

OK let me clear that out with him. I was under the impression you mentioned you had a previous one. I'll get back to you asap.

i installed this version and it was good but to heavy for PC.
and the malware/virus detection was good but not superior , i tested with some few 100 NEW malware.

Keep working on detection rate with this version.

Has anyone had a problem with panda cloud 1.0 not detecting the Eicar test in a LUA with XP, switching to Admin and it detects it, the last beta worked in the LUA ?

Tried uninstalling , using a reg. cleaner and a reinstall with the same results.

True and the last beta would detect in either account, wondering if I've broken something with installing and uninstalling or if theres a hiden file I need to reset or delete

Nope tried opening, tried scanning nothing, in the admin account it will catch it on the download, and and when i check the LUA downloads and scan it will catch it from there, acts like its not really working in the LUA?

Will it automatically update to latest version? Or will we have to uninstall old version?
