    When will this have password or UAC protected settings? I would definitely switch over if that was added.

    Pcav for Mac never even started.

    Yes that's one of the things we have in mind for 2.0.

    o_O So you will not develop a Mac version at all?
    I thought you had plans for one already, or maybe I was too excited :)

    Very nice to hear :thumb:

    That's great, will it be available in the free version?

    Could you disclose some more information on the time schedule, when can we expect 1.5 beta and 1.5 final, and when can we expect 2.0 final? Since I find it rather strange we see a 1.9 beta before a 1.5 beta.

    So let me see if I get the final product line up right.

    Panda Cloud Antivirus Free 1.5
    Panda Cloud Antivirus Pro 1.5 = PCAV Free 1.5 + behavioral analysis + automatic USB vaccination + premium support + no ads

    Panda Cloud Antivirus Free 2.0
    Panda Cloud Antivirus Pro 2.0 = PCAV Free 2.0 + behavioral analysis + automatic USB vaccination + cloud-based firewall + premium support + no ads
    or PCAV Pro 1.5 + cloud-based firewall

    So what will be the difference between PCAV Free 1.5 and the later upcoming PCAV Free 2.0?

    1.9 Beta testers supply the content for the whitelist data base for the 2.0 firewall ;)

    I guess PCAV Free 1.5 will be discontinued when PCAV Free 2.0 will be released :)

    As pbust has mentioned, 1.5 is currently in closed beta.

    Just a quick question, why does it need IE to be installed? I tried to install it to a friend, because he needed a file exception, but setup failed due to missing IE (disabled).

    Have you tried this out? I have not had time. Been busy with Avira and Avast lately.

    No, but pbust said it's on the list for version 2.0.

    It really looks like version 2.0 will include all improvements I want:
    • more advanced settings;
    • improved scan speeds;
    • improved CPU and disk usage;
    • possibility to protect settings;
    • including the URL filtering in the core instead of a stupid toolbar;
    • more free/pro features yet to announce!
    In my eyes a great step in becoming a more mature product and therefore a better alternative for avast! which is obviously the most mature free solution available at this moment.

    They don't download/upload your entire hard drive, only cloud signatures.

    A few hundred KB, maybe a few MB depending on the size of your drive(s). I believe HTTPPro is a good soft to find out.

    If PCAV finds an unknown executable file on your computer it will upload it, is there a limit on file size, like it won't be uploaded if 's larger than X MB?

    It will create a unique counter signature for the file which is a lot smaller by comparison and then upload it.
    ...but I could be wrong. ;)

    Switched 2 machines over to 1.9 and 2 on 1.5. I really like 1.9 and the abiity to see the executed processes.

    1.9.0 is the first beta version of some to come to prepare to 2.0 (with full cloud-firewall capabilities). 1.9 will never be "final". There will be a 1.9.1 beta, etc. until 1.9 beta versions mature into 2.0. The 2.0 will have a different GUI which will show activity similar to the one you are referring to.
