I have multiple systems, but the one I have tested it most on is Q6600, 8gb ram, Win7-64bit. Why?

The last time we discussed this (with version 1.4 if I remember correctly) you mentioned you weren't able to reproduce it:
Has anything changed since then? Have you been able to reproduce it again with the latest version?

That was a separate issue, that caused noticeable slowdown. I have not seen that again. The disk i/o I am talking about is just the program in general. compared to other AVs I have used, Panda is probably the highest. I'm talking read & write i/o bytes, viewable from process explorer or task mgr.

This is an issue I have mentioned since PCAV came out. I thought it got a bit better with version 1.5, but disk i/o is still very high compared to Avast, Norton, etc....

No other realtime scanners, with a 8mb cable connection.

That's probably because Task Manager and ProcExp look at I/O in general, including both disk and network. Try looking at it with the newest version of ProcExp which came out recently. You'll be able to distinguish both disk and network I/O.

Regardless, there are some major improvements to the cache coming up in the next beta version 1.9.1 which should bring I/O down a lot.

Thanks, I will look into that. So if ProxExp shows 5 billion bytes, that could be 50% disk i/o and 50% internet bandwidth?

I have messed around a bit with 1.9, and it seems similar to 1.5.1. I will try 1.9.1 when the beta is released. PCAV offers top notch protection from what I have seen. I just get concerned when I see the i/o numbers.

EDIT: looks like you are right "The number of bytes read in input/output operations generated by a process, including file, network, and device I/Os. I/O Read Bytes directed to CONSOLE (console input object) handles are not counted."

Also, when comparing the new upcoming beta 1.9.1 against 1.5 make sure to turn off "BackgroundScan after synch" (off by default in 1.5 but on by default in 1.9.1) and turn off the firewall. That should give you a more apples to apples view.

    Hi,
Please can anyone tell me is it good for small netbooks? I have purchased a new netbook for my father and I wish to install it along with sandboxie.

The config is Atom Dual Core and 2gb ram, with WIN 7 Starter edition. Is Panda optimized for small netbook and I wish to run it along with sandboxie?

Any compatibility issue I should know of, between Panda and Sandboxie?

    Thanks,
    Ziaul

It should work fine on the netbook. I know a few people use Panda Cloud with Sandboxie but I have never personally tested it.

No conflicts. Panda cloud pro and sandboxie work well together. There is a list of applications in sandboxie that allow better integration. Also I've used both items together without issue.

It does that like every other AV. There`s the behaviour blocker and firewall (in the future) as well. No specfic keylogger protection though.

I downloaded Panda Cloud Pro 1.5.1 from Facebook for the 6 month trial and it's running really light on my older desktop computer. So far so good.
