PCAV is blocking iron.exe from running and then when I select to allow, or quit blocking it, PCAV puts it in a Lost & Found folder instead of back where it found it. Anyone else experience this behavior between PCAV and Iron browser?

version 1.0 has this issue also. i think its a bug, but if PCA cant find the path it gets up into there.

Yeah that's i am looking for. Many of us would love to run it along with other AV's like we can do with Prevx. Even i have asked Pedro about the same. It would be really nice if they work on this thing also.

It seems like a FP too saying that iron.exe is suspicious.

Prevx was designed to be like Malwarebytes and run with other AV programs.

Panda Cloud was designed like MSE, Norton, Kaspersky so it can't run with other AV's.

Actually if you want to run it alongside other AV you can. Since about 1 month ago we changed the installer so that it will install on top of other AVs if that's what you want to do.

It's just that we don't suggest to do it as running 2 AVs might slow down the machine a bit as both engines will be fighting each other for access to files and objects.

If you do run PCAV alongside other AVs please let me know your impressions.

What software is iron.exe from? Do you have a URL or MD5?

But still i think it will conflict with each other whereas Prevx guaranteed that their product won't conflict with other suites. I am not trying to create A vs B, but i am trying to dig out the more fact....

In one line you are saying that you can run it alongside other AV and in second line you are creating doubt that both engines can fight with each other, this statement is really contradictory...

This is not an FP. I just tried it and it runs correctly without detecting anything.

From your description what it seems that is happening is that PCAV is not able to complete the cloud-scanning query for the iron.exe file, probably because of connectivity problems.

    Try the following:
1.- Open PCAV and go to the Recycle Bin. Select the file and click unblock or restore. Alternatively browse via explorer.exe to the iron.exe file, right-click on it and select "unblock".
2.- Make sure you are connected to the Internet, right click on iron.exe and scan it with PCAV to make sure it is scanned by the PCAV cloud.
    3.- Try running it again.

Well I tried running Dr Web v6 with PCAV 1.1 BETA and it ran smoothly for sometime until I tried testing with some malwares when both Dr Web and Panda detected it as threat:'(

Trying this out. Tested with Antivirus 7 rogue. Execution and install of rogue was allowed then PCAV caught and deleted the installer some seconds later. However the rogue was already installed so too late. The rogue then prevented opening of PCAV to scan etc to remove it.

Is this delay in detection common when its checking the cloud for sig and how is malware like this that attacks the resident AV removed if it blocks PCAV from running?

For info Hitman pro from USB killed the rogue process and cleaned the system (VM anyway but still good).

    Thanks

Actually there's no delay as the cloud-queries are synchronous, so no file is allowed to run until it is checked.

In this case it seems as if the installer was not detected but some files during extraction were detected.

Can you send me the URL/MD5 of the rogue installer?

How do you know that both cannot be run together? Did you try? If so what AV did you try with PCAV?

    Thanks.

Pbust is right I have used PCAV with Norton 360, McAfee, and Outpost Security suite with no conflict. Actually I did not even feel that I was running two AVs. They simply co-existed and worked.

    Thanks.

Tell me more. Did your computer become unstable, crash or what?

    Thanks.
