Ok, this was really weird today...

I've downloaded "Transmission-QT" 64bit version from SourceForge and Panda Free 2016 quarantined it as suspicious. Then I've restored it from quarantine, it was automatically added to the exclusion list, but the installer wasn't actually restored. It was nowhere to be found in the original browser download location, but it was added to the exlusions list. Really weird.

Yes Agent service is a Panda service but impact in system is near zero (and this surprise me, I have tried Panda in the past and I uninstalled it soon, too slow pc for my taste) and I have never used crapware (and for me url filters are crapware) I prefer a simple DNS that made this job better and without stay in memory.

I suspect for the people that do install the url filter, they will find that part uses more resources than the rest of the program. At least it's been that way for a year or so.

This is a question for everyone

Which install method did you go with?

    1. Installed Panda and URL filter
    2. Installed Panda only, minus the URL filter

2- Panda only, so I add uBlock + Open DNS.

For anyone who has installed the URL filter, does it still have the high memory/memory leak issue? I remember it getting past 700K on my machine when I tries it!

700k is nto much. That's less than 1 megabyte...

Normal is about 20 -25 MB for url-filter

I think he may have meant 700meg. I have seen it get to several hundred meg. I also believe there is a memory leak or some bug with it.

I like the idea of uBlock + OpenDNS, so I decided to uninstall the URL filter as well.

I think uBlock + OpenDNS is an interesting idea. I use uBlock on Firefox and Chrome but I may look into OpenDNS.

I don't mind the new interface but is not nice to see Kaspersky having a panda baby with NOD32. Apart from the new version is very slow and resource hungry on 4 GB of ram. Going back to BitDefender Free.

How come it is resource hungry? Ive been using it from day one and find it really light in both real use and via "task manager".

Also been using it on other people's PCs and the ones that had nasty habit of picking up PUPs either stopped doing it or its Panda's great work (logs don't show much). So far I am really pleased with it.

On my old pc with windows xp it runs great. Low system impact (i installed without url filter) .
I installed Panda free in Shadow Defender mode, to clean some malware from usb. Did it's job and i decided to install it again normally. I am not a great fan of antivirus solutions anymore, but when you don't know it's there is ok.

I first used the Panda Cloud when it was released in about 2008 or something, although I've only recently started using it again. It is the lightest AV I have ever known.

If future Panda releases are as good, or even better than this current release, I'm definitely sticking around.

So far, I am really pleased with this 2016 release.

Oh cmon, this is stupid. Panda Free 2016 is NOT restoring any files from quarantine even though it says it does. So stupid.
