It is a very nice animation Iceni :) .. but... too big to upload as an avatar, I'm afraid... :( It is 288 kB  And, I know, I cannot go over 32kb myself. How much kb are you allowed for your avatar? Is it 32 kb too? o_O ...there might be a way, but of course, I will have to reduce the number of frames, otherwise, you could not upload it. ;)

    Thanks Uguel!

Hey Ice60 (i think) recommended a program by Nirsoft called, "Places bar Tweaker". It has a feature I have wanted for years! You know those Save dialogs? They have 4 or 5 icons on the left so when you save files you can navigate there faster? Well now you can replace them. But this is the big part: Not just the Icon, but the destination! I don't want to say only a fool would save pictures in "My Pictures" of windows, but let's just say I don't. It has always rankled that My pictures would be there, for me, useless!

Here is a picture of mine. Does not look great, but does work perfectly.

These are among the best fractals sites I've found recently:

    http://www.eclectasy.com/cruelanimal/

Gorgeous fractals animations with music, you can download them!

    small fractal animations:

    Fractals Movie Theatre, Slide Show

I downloaded a fractal program called Tierazon,
it is a shareware only but, it will last long enough to give
you a good idea on fractal softwares before buying one.

to convert .avi files into .gifs, a software called AVI edit.
I tried it and it worked!

this gif was an .avi file before I converted it to a gif ! ;)

You are probably not going to be too surprised by my answer - since it has been pretty consistant all along. Kai's Power Tools (90's vintage) and Flaming Pears very early version of Lacquer.

Geeze, Luise! I was just trying to do this all morning before admitting that I did not really want to do it after all. I did not really notice this part of your post before. I'm surprised that the graphic did not catch my eye. By the way, have you a particular interest in stamp collecting? :D

Hey ice60...the only thing with the places bar program is...does it have any instructions? I could not see how to replace the desktop icon. I am okay with the pointer, but the baby blue has got to go!

i can't find any instructions, i don't put icons on my desktop because i have over 250 programs so they wouldn't all fit. but, if you want to change the icon, right-click the icon and go to properties, in the shortcut tab there's a button to Change Icon. you can use IconsExtract to extract hidden icons on your PC it's a none install program so you can just delete it's folder if you don't like it.

    more good icons below

    hi,

I don't put icons on the desktop either...i just don't like the cluttered appearance. But what I meant is that the desktop icon is not really a shortcut icon in the usual sense is it? an icon for a shortcut normally points to something that itself is an icon. I cannot make a shortcut out of the desktop icon. I cannot drag and drop it. if you click the properties of the desktop you get a set of controls for the display properties...but i will check the link.

    Here's a heat picture.

    -------------------
    Late addition:

Food says that he doesn't do the icons to make it work better, but then relents a little when he points out how much easier it is to easily navigate when your icons are more individual and less cluttered. He's right. I'm sure I have the tools to change the desktop item, but I have several new programs and I can't learn them all at once. just thought there might be a quick fix.

    -----------------
Wait just a second, Uguel! You are telling me that my clint eastwood does not look sunburnt to you? Petrified?? Clint Eastwood my get a sunburn but he is never petrified. BTW, Judging from his skin color, I'd say your man needs to get out in the sun a bit more!!!

    .... a sunburnt?... oh, I see! :D ;)

Hmmm,.... yes, he is very white, or too much rice powder on his face I would say! but no...he was not a real man....he was nicknamed, "il castrato" in his time. I wonder if anyone heard of Farinelli? o_O There was a legend that his voice was so beautiful that some historians reported that the purity and the beauty of his sound healed King Philip V of Spain of a severe depression. Quite amazing, eh?..."Farinelli, or Carlo Broschi, was a young singer in Handel's time. He was castrated in his childhood in order to preserve his voice." During his life he became a very famous opera singer. He is considered to be the one of the greatest singers of all time.

I saw the movie on his life...and boy, even the actor in the movie was singing real well, :)

I wonder if by chance, he may have sung of longing, and of unrequited love? Of a thirst that could never be quenched.

At any rate, I am only familiar with pop music. I'm guessing Michael Jackson, or even Andy Gibb might serve for comparisons?

Speaking of tortured souls, how did you like Hell (my last picture). I am so concerned about the possibility of causing nightmares that I am hoping to mitigate this possibility by telling you what Hell really is.

    Hell is Legos!

I just downloaded PhotoFiltre. I am very new to these graphics programs so I need some help. How do I use the patterns within the program. I have used PaintShop a little bit and with that program I can use the patterns with the fill tool. Is there a similer process with this program? Thanks
