Anyhow she deserves it fully. If she continues and I think she got the taste for it,
we'll be seeing more refreshing designs. :)
No help at all, that's simply admirable. Using PSP with almost no lessons.
She must have paid good attention when you were playing with it.
I hope it will be solved when inserting a new video card.
Good to hear you got enough RAM. :D

Hey Brad, here's something for Sophie. :D ;)

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

I think photoshop could be set to scan paintshop pro for plugins. There are limitations. As far as I know you can only specify one additional location to scan, and there are many other applications that can use the same plugins. A far bigger problem, IMHO, is the behavior of programs that use installers that decide for you where to install to. Most of the time you can undo the damage, but sometimes it's pretty hard. I've been patiently waiting for a good opportunity to flame some of the companies that have made my life just a little harder than necessary. Well, no time like the present.

Extensis makes some great plugins...if you can get past the installation! The problem is some that I have installed in the past insist on scanning your computer, and deciding where to install the plugins. If you specify a location other than the ones it suggests then, you are wrong! It won't consider just installing where you say to. If you specify a location to install to photoshop, for example, the installer checks that 'photoshp.exe' is there. If not, it will keep telling you that you have specified an invalid location and refuse to install. There are several problems with this pushy installer.

1 - Starting with version 7.0, photoshop names its executable file 'photoshop.exe', and not, 'photoshp.exe'. (you can get it to install by first copying, or renaming to photoshp.exe for the installation, then reverting the name afterwards)

2 - They are ignoring the fact that photoshop allows you to specify other folders to scan for plug-ins. (There are good reasons not to use the default location).

3 - When some users have over a Terrabyte of hard drive space that the overly helpful installer scans for application plug-in folders you are really wasting quite a bit of time scanning when the end user already knows where to install to.

Anyway photoshop can scan other folders for plugins It would be nice if the people who write these installers would just drop this notion of automatically knowing what someone else wants to do. Sheesh!

Back to Phong. I looked it up because i wanted to know if it was a plugin, effect, or person. What I found is that someone named Phong developed some algorithms for simulating 3D, e.g.

"Phong shading: Invented by Wu Tong Phong, used to simulate specular highlights and smooth shaded surfaces."

the name Phong is stamped on at least two other 3D techniques that he pioneered. For all you do, Phong, wherever you are, this buds for you!

This was a regular photo, that I decided to posterize.

This baby is either very happy or dreaming of all the schemes he will put into motion someday! Cute expression!

He is, of course, a "PosterBaby". :)

Sometimes in life, something can happen to make you feel "re-born", in this case, it looks like baby and Dad have experienced the same thing. I call it "Birth and Rebirth".

It was a hard one to do, because for some reason there is alot of 'fog' in the background and not having an expensive cleaning up plug-in (:D) I decided to just add more fog.

Also, lots of colorizing and lighting, used AutoFX too ended up taking most of it off, too many to remember, just that I tried all kinds of them .....re-thinking my options......until further notice!

Nice effect indeed. Isn't that the same picture as before, but you used the Phong filter?
    LOL ... Nice puppies. :)
Cute picture Marja and I'm sure they'll find their way to the food line. They always do.
Another cute picture. When they are asleep, they are just like angels, but once awake beware. :doubt:
I would think about a sunshine coming into your life.
    Marvellous picture, well done. ;)

Animal babies again! These two kits caught my eye, because they look so alert and ready to hunt down anything on their territory! They are so cute!

Just a border, lighting and a soft blur.........that's all!

    Marja:cool:

They are just two.."Root_Kits".:) (Root as in red, in this case, but it fit! LOL!)

This is a gorgeous cat, who looks to be saying, " I tell ya, there is an extra kid here!"

The photograph (?) looks almost like it was painted in places, I left it alone pretty much except for lighting and the color.

The border is Corroboree by Jama3D.
