Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

    Hi Everyone!

Uguel - I'm glad to see someone using the Auto FX dreamy photo filter. I find it very interesting, and sometimes unpredictable. have you tried adjusting the zoom control. You may have to choose the zoom preset, I'm not sure.

I just wanted to mention something so others may avoid my situation. Not all plugins are of the simple paste the file.8bf into your plugins folder. Some have installers that create separate folders nowhere near your graphics apps. Some put .DLL's in your windows folder. some have 'content', and settings, and even define new file extensions (like .stg, "sting", which is defined for "genuine fractals").

Some will even create a program files folder on your C drive even if C drive is not your system drive. (my windows is on K drive)

Why am I mentioning this? Because you can install plugins to more than one application. If say, you have photoshop, and paintshop pro, you have to install the plugins to both. in the case of plugins that are only a collection of .8bf files it is simple. you copy and paste to the second apps directory into the second apps plugin folder.

But what do you do when the original also has content folders, uninstals, .DLL'S, and who knows what else...

If you run the installer again, just think of the damage to the uninstalls, and the registry settings (you might as well, because I didn't).

If you duplicate all the content to the second folder it works. Sometimes. For a while.

The deceptively simple answer seems to be, copy the plugin (.8bf, ect..) itself to the second application, and leave all the other stuff alone.

I realize that this is probably obvious, but some people (like me) do not even think to look before they leap.

I think the foregoing is pretty much true. If all else fails, read the manual!

Ok! Move over, Buck, let the next generation get some attention! :D

This is "Sophie's Garden", with VP lighting (someone already took a good pic.) Then I just added two borders, one with the Lattice maker with leaves.

    (Probably should have re-sized it!)

This is long over due THANKS! to Mul!

I tried to get Blair bigger, but it kept distorting him, so I cut the Praetorians down to size some, but I wanted them BIG!

Then I pasted Blair in his policeman's uniform and 'tried' to make it look like he just appeared from another dimension...not sure if it succeeded....but, this is for Blair.

Simple border and that's all, for "Blair's Army".

Beetleboss, who is Mikel? Those three are very nice looking kiddos! :)
...and yes, Bigbuck is the most imp of them all! :D

...Our friend Blair at the fair. ;)
I open the picture in PSP, duplicated it and added plenty of noise in it (picture1)
then with the freehand Selection tool, I cut the friends (from picture2)
and pasted the pic over the one with all the noise in it.

I like your pic of Blair and friends, Uguel! It's a 'happy' feeling picture! :)

Thank you, Buck and Sophie! Cute! LOL!

That's a cool prog there, Buck! Now you can take ALL your pics and put them into one pic, instead of an album!! (LOL!)

Slow going on these Forum Friends pics, but here's another one with Sam!

I am having probs with PhotoFiltre freezing up? Don't know why, it's very light on resources.....so, this took a while......:p

It's just a composite of the two, a pic of Sam and a screensaver of Spiderman and a frame with noise and attitude. :)

    Marja:cool:

Hope ya like it, Sam I Am!!

Has anyone used PhotoPlus 6? It is free lifetime software. And it is in english. lol
I got it, and I had to register online for the software to be unlocked for free use. Sorry if it has already been posted and I may have overlooked it. I'm good at that sometimes.
