Some pictures look good with that transparent frame and some
look better with another style. It always depends what effect
you want to achieve. I often change my settings depending to
    what I want.

this one was made with Photofiltre.

It is ok for me to put my name (by Sonya) on a pic, rite? Even though I didn't draw the picture? It should be ok, since I did the effects, rite? I don't want to go claiming someone elses work, lol :D Got from the internet.
But here it is with sparkles, and by Sonya, lol :D Kinda uneven though   I Sonya & Jamie everything to death, lol

I think it's ok when the website mention stg like: free pictures, free animations
and so on. Sometimes they will mention this "....these pictures were made by me, you can take the ones that you want and modify them... they are free to use..."

...So there should not be any problem. Where you must be careful it is if you open a website and display them as your own creations when it was created by someone else.

Most people who do it will ask the permission before modifying any pictures or they will just create them from A to Z. Even if they had the permission to do so, they might mention that they modified the picture in order to respect the artist's original work.

In this learning thread, I do not think that it matter too much
as long as we don't pretend that we did the drawing when it is
    somebody's else picture. ;)

    Hi Uguel -

I never knew you were in california! I wonder...Yesterday I was working on my pond. Part of it is just high enough for me to rest my chin on. While I was watching the water, I felt is sway gently, and I relaxed, sort of enjoying the sensation. Then I thought, hold on, this can't be able to move. I tried pushing on it, but it was solid. Either I had sunstroke or it was a little earthquake!

I just wrote to ask is the girl in your frame a creation of yours? I like it, whose ever it is. I have a book on drawing aname figures. I wanted to see if I can could do it. It is really fun!

P.S. I realize that the picture is not aname per se, but some of the style is similar

Yes, I am in California since August 2004.
I went to Quebec for a couple of weeks last fall though.

...yes, there were a couple of earthquakes that happened since
a couple of weeks. Hope they won't get any bigger. :doubt:

No, the pic of the girl was not a creation of mine...

but I am thinking of creating a face of a girl and a boy.
I have many drawings in my pad, I tried to trace them with
my Wacom tablet but it did not work well for the pic was too big.
Actually, it was about 8x10 but it appear much bigger on the screen
and it could not fit in the canvas either! So I ended up tracing
    a smaller drawing that I had. :)
...I looked at the other drawing of the brown girl for I like the
complexion. I haven't decided the hair colour yet.
..of course, this is just the beginning... ;)

What a lot of great pics!!

Cool Buck, I bet you did like the 'action' in that movie! Like your 'action' shots of Charlie's Angels, right? ;)

Sonya! I agree with Uguel, Jamie is gif challenged! LOL! You are doing great!

Uguel, I agree with Hands! Like that drawing, would like to know or see how you do your drawing on the computer, I see you have started a lesson, great!

Like you pictures too, have to pass the chocolate ones real fast though!

The pink racing car? I only used the regular blur on it once, what I used most was the VP photographer's filter! It was already a very bright pink, I brought it out more then a light blur to kinda make it look like it was moving? That's about all I did to the car!

The neon look in the other was just PSP's neon about three times, lol!
The comic strip look was the effect from PhotoFiltre over the mesh and the pic twice, I think the mesh is what made it possible to only use the comic strip effect twice - otherwise probably have to do the effect alot more.

I am glad you like them!

This is, of course, Gandolph, Legolas, and Aragorn plotting in Lord of the Rings, loved all three of them! :D

I made a frame inside the picture using PhotoFiltre and then inverted the selection and used a glass effect then put a mosaic effect over that.

OH! I also put a soft relief over the whole picture twice - more than that and you couldn't tell who they were!

This is a picture of Gandolph. Doesn't it look like maybe they played baseball? LOL! I am thinking you will lose alot of balls playing with a sword!

I put an ellipse around Gandolph, inverted the selection then put the pointillize effect over the inverted part.

I did a little light work on Gandolph - but mostly left him alone to hit a homerun! :D

The simple border and that's all!

The lovely Aerowen, I think this is during her vision?

I used different lighting on her with the VP filter (there are about three lighting effects on the pic), then a light blur with 3 borders, one is chiseled to give it some depth.

    That's all!

THIS PICTURE OF ARAGORN HAS THE ALIENWARE ELECTRICITY EFFECT ON IT THEN I INVERTED THE SELECTION AND MADE THE BACKGROUND DISAPPEAR USING .......THE CHISEL EFFECT. YEAH, I KNOW......WHO KNEW?

I THEN PUT A GLASS EFFECT ON THE WHOLE PIC WITH A MOSAIC TWIST - AND THAT'S ALL!:D

A long time ago(like over a year) I had this sparklie made for me off an internet site that is no longer in service. I found it on my comp. . But this looks like some kind of gel font to me. I am just wondering what you think the font is? Just a normal font? It kinda looks 3D too.
    Great work Marja!
    Every one else too!!!!

    HI Sonya!

I took your gif apart and I think it's just a plain font with an emboss effect on it!

I have seen the gel fonts, in fact, DreamSuite has a whole gel program, really really excellent! It makes all kinds of things in different gel formats! (At the price, it should do the work for you! LOL!)

But, after splitting this one up, it doesn't really look that complicated.

If you were looking to make one yourself? Pick a font that most resembles this one, or any font actually, use PSP's emboss on it until you are happy, then take it through Animation Shop. That should do it, remember this one is only three frames- so try not to do many more frames than that or it will become HUGE!

I am good at making things HUGE, not everyone appreciates that, though! LOL!

GOOD LUCK!! LET US SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH! :D

Thanxs Marja! I had to use the inner bevel effect, but I did it!
I didn't sparkle one yet though.
    Thanxs for helping me!
