Your pic looks real good Marja! ;)
How did you apply the grass? Did you paint it with a brush or
did you use a tube? it is very cute to see all the butterflies
    flying over the path. ;)

Thanks for the stroke color info. Uguel!
I did this with gold fill, and then used the sparkle tube also!

    Lacquer plugin? Oh, I see.
I will try it for sure. The colours look so fresh! :)

"I used layers to preserve the face, even as the rest of the picture was turning into a cartoon."

...ok, I was wondering how you managed to keep some areas unchanged
like Jessica's face? you used layers ok but.. did you select the face and copied
    from...let's say layer 1 into layer 2?

"I'm afraid my bugs were not as well received as I had hoped. Oh, well! Anyway they were created with KPT-6 Gel Effects. That's right! I am still using 1990's plug-ins. I really liked the nineties. I refuse to leave them!"

they look cool to me! ;)
...and you can apply the effect on a straight text right?

IT'S BEEN A LONG DAY AT THE RODEO FOR THIS COWBOY, HE'S 'ONE TIRED LIL PUGAROO.'!

USED JUST THE VP FILTER AND A HALO, TO CLEAN UP SOME OF THE ROUGH SPOTS, CROPPED IT DOWN SOME, THEN MADE A BORDER FRAME WITH DISTORT TWIRLS AND JAMA3D.

    THANKS!

    Thanks Sonia. :)

I've just found the link of that tutorial.
The tutorial has a text in it, I don't, :doubt: but the tutorial
has no gradient background, I do. :)

Here's the link. When you will be on that page,
go to the left side, and go down under "tutorial" till you see
"intermediate", click on it and then choose "Humming Bird"
in the menu that will be displayed on your right.

    humming bird

For the cat, I made it up myself after I did the Rose tag
tutorial. It is on the same site but in the "advanced level".
You will find it by clicking on tutorial>advanced> then you go to
to the same menu displayed on your right and you click on
"Rose tag" in the left row, 11th line. ;)

Instead of a rose tube, I chose a cat and applied the Visman
filter in a way that looks like big petals like they did in the tutorial.
So basically it is the same tutorial but done with different tubes
    and different letters!

    HI ALL!

UGUEL! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT SOME FILTERS I HAVE THAT I CAN'T GET TO WORK AND ABOUT TUBES! SOME THINGS I FOUND OUT I CAN'T DO WITH THEM.........HELP!

CAN YOU NOT USE EFFECTS OVER TUBES? I CAN'T SEEM TO DO ANYTHING OVER OR AROUND TUBES, IN FACT, THE VP FILTER ONLY SEES THE TUBES! NOT THE REST OF THE PIC, EVEN WITH INVERTING THE SELECTION? I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!

SO, I COULDN'T DO AS MUCH WITH THIS BBOSS AND RITA PIC AGAIN AS I WANTED TO- FINALLY PUT A GUASSIAN LAYER TO TAKE AWAY THE 'REALITY' I WANTED OUT OF IT...PLUS DISTORTED BORDERS WITH JAMA3D HEDGE, AND SOME ADJUSTING EFFECTS.......SO I "LET SLEEPING DEER LIE', AND THAT'S ALL! :D

OK! I SAID IT WASN'T A REALITY PIC, BUT IT IS STILL IN THE COUNTRY! :p

    MARJA:cool:

Yes, I know that's not how to spell ly, lying down, wasn't going for that! :D

Uguel, I should have put a drop shadow on it to make it more 3D?

It was frustratin to realize none of my addins, plugins or filters seemed to do anything to the pic, only the deer, have you ever seen a deer ripple?? Amazing! lol!

....No problem Marja, do you get an error report window?

Once it is pasted in a picture, you can aplied an effect in it BUT
some filters don't work with layers or transparent backgrounds.
All layers must be merged or flatten to do so. So you go
to the Menu then Layers>Merge> you can choose Merge all
or flatten. Although visman filter and many other filters work
all right with a transparent background, some filters don't. :(

can you tell me what kind of filter you tried to apply in it? o_O

Yeah, I PMd ya, too! It was first the vp photo filter, then I couldnt get those 8bf filters to work, they said I needed some other file?

Then Redfield plugins, the Alienware plugins,...........LOL! Just about every one I have, they only saw the deer and the bushes I added?

    Thanks!

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

you meant that they do not work either?

It can be a missing .dll

also did you make sure when you downloaded them that
they were for Windows users not Mac users?
look at the screenshot...this is what you needed.

    And...

Just in case, I've just downloaded Harry's filters and
see if I come upon the same problem. I will
tell you later (Uguel hasn't eat anything yet till the morning :doubt: )

Well done Sonya. If that's not great, I don't know what is. o_O
    That's a great song ... err ... picture. :D ;)
Funny picture & cute dog Marja. :D
A cartoon inside a real picture. :) Nice frame too. :)
I hope it gets solved with those filters. :(
About that missing dll, I know exactly what you mean.
I'll look around for the exact name of that dll.

Uguel, you saw horses in my previous picture, so here's already one. :D
Applied several filters and also created a sun.
The horse was taken from a picture and made into a tube and applied a motion trail filter.

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

    I found it. :D

For some filters you need the following dll's:
    - plugin.dll
    - msvcrt10.dll

See if these are present inside the Windows/System directory
    For Windows XP it's Windows/System32

You can find these dll's here. Sorry, it's in Dutch. :doubt:

    ok, I'm all right now!
Well, I downloaded Harry's filters and I installed it in my usual foder.
(The one I have most of my plugins in it) It did not kick.
I opened PSP,then I opened a pic in it, I went to the menu,
quirky Harry was not there....
No Harry's filters!!! for it was displayed as "The Plugin Site" instead!!!
in the PSP plug-in applications and not as "Harry's Filters". So
you must watch for that Marja. ;)

    Here's the screenshot. :)

you can apply effects on a simple image, on a transparent image
or on a layer. The tiger was a tube in which I applied Harry's
filter in it. Hope this help Marja. :doubt:
