    HI ALL! HI UGUEL!!

I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT PROG, PICASA? IT LOOKS LIKE I MIGHT FINALLY GET ALL MY PICS IN ONE PLACE OR AT LEAST ONE PLACE I CAN LOOK AT THEM INSTEAD OF 120 FOLDERS!! LOL~ I REALLY LIKE HOW IT ORGANIZES THEM, SO YOU ONLY HAVE TO LOOK ONE PLACE........OR TEN~ IT LETS YOU PUT THE PICS IN MORE THAN ONE FOLDER WITHOUT DUPLICATING THEM....WITH ALL THOSE TUBES AND CLIPART - THIS WILL MAKE FINDING THEM ALL SOO EASY - I AM STILL PINCHING MYSELF.........ENOUGH COMMERCIAL MESSAGES! LOL! (IT'S FREE TOO!)

COUNTRY WOULDN'T BE COUNTRY WITHOUT HORSES, WHETHER YOU RIDE THEM OR JUST LOVE TO WATCH THEM RUN.....PREFERABLY WITH A WINNING TICKET IN HAND! :D

SO, THESE HORSE ARE ON THEIR 'MISTY MORNIN' RUN' AFTER HAVING BEEN BLURRED BY VP FILTER WITH 3 DIFFERENT EFFECTS, AND A SOFT FOCUS BLUR WITH A JAMA3D FILTER CALLED CRACKERLQUE (PROB WRONG SPELLING) FOR A FRAME. THAT'S ABOUT ALL THEY NEEDED, NO JOHN WAYNE HIDING IN THE MIST EITHER! (ELDAR, I HAD TO LOOK 4 TIMES, BEFORE I SAW HIM........PRETTY TRICKY THERE!)

    THANKS!

    MARJA:cool:

(I AM REALLY GOING TO HAVE TO DO A GLOBE NOW, I ALWAYS LIKED THEM BUT..............DIDN'T WANT TO GET HOOKED ON THEM........UGUEL! LOL! VERY PRETTY THEY ARE TOO!)

    this is beautiful Marja!
It would make a great desktop wallpaper too :)

Hey, about Picasa, if you edit an image
in it, or do any changes in a picture,
do not forget that you must save the changes
    after. ;)

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

So many comments to respond to...

I resisted saying this before because I did not want it taken the wrong way, but I have to say it. As far as I have seen there is no automatic photo correction that consistantly does a good job. If you do it alot you will recognize certain types of distortion and which program handles them best. If you have photoshop its always fun to try "autolevels" cntrl+shift+L. I say fun because it is the one that seems the most unpredictable. Sometimes it is absolutely amazing...sometime absolutely horrible. You will notice, when you try to autocorrect professional photo's downloaded that auto levels almost always produces a horrible result. I assume this is because these photo's are usually enhanced with special effects to make them seem softer, or brighter, or more colorful, or subdued, ect.

sometimes autocontrast is still reliable when auto levels is not. I could go on and on on this subject. It is what got me started in photoshop. My first camera had some limitations and i was amazed how much the pics can be improved!

oh...Uguel, I see from the quote that I mispoke. I said 36 x 36 when I meant 32 x 32. It is the kind of mistake I make all the time. I know what I mean, but I say something else! and do it over and over.

Also, you ask a very good question. The plugin I used on my Jessica and Ivy picture (which I have about 50 versions of) is flaming pear's Lacquer plug-in. as you may have noticed i love to make everything shiny. I think the colors must hypnotize me. and for the record, I will say again that flaming pear has a large number of plugins that are absolutely free. not Laquer, or Flood, or the other fancy ones, but I listed the ones I think are "must haves" before. Also, I use the very first version of lacquer, and I do not use the upgraded one. (I'm glad i did not delete the old version) The new one crashes my computer. But I suppose it works on other people's.

I also did something relatively sneaky...I used layers to preserve the face, even as the rest of the picture was turning into a cartoon. This is my real backyard BTW. My avatar is also my backyard. I just sort of edit most of the reality out.

More on Axialis Iconworkshop. I did my first icons with Photofiltre's too. It was fun, but it was difficult for a couple of reason's. you mentioned the 32 x 32 issue. what made it hard for me was that you could not edit the image in photoshop, with transparent layer and alpha channel, and then just convert it to an icon. Imagine a world where you see an icon file anywhere on your computer and you can just double click it, and it is opened in IconWorkshop where you can either edit it or export it as true color .psd file with transparancy to photoshop. Then imagine after you finish, that this amazing program has a photoshop plug-in filter that sends the new version back to iconworkshop. It gets better. at this point you can have it create all the different resolutions, or just the ones you want, with just one click.

There are a couple more very clever features, but it is the total integration with photoshop and windows explorer that makes it actually fun to use.

Elder, there is one more important feature that will probably be important to you. But I'll save it for my next "Spotlight On Icons" issue.

    ++++
I'm afraid my bugs were not as well received as I had hoped. Oh, well! Anyway they were created with KPT-6 Gel Effects. That's right! I am still using 1990's plug-ins. I really liked the nineties. I refuse to leave them!

GLAD TO KNOW THE 'HOW' OF MAKING PICTURES, I DID WONDER ABOUT THE FACE. HAVE TO TRY IT SOMEDAY!

UGUEL, I LOVE THAT PICASA! ONCE I GET ALL THOSE PICS IN SOME KIND OF ORDER.....WHICH WILL BE EASY WITH THIS PROGRAM!..THEN I CAN LOOK FOR MORE PICS! LOL! AS IT IS NOW, ALOT OF DUPLICATION HAS BEEN GOING ON IN THIS MACHINE! THANKS AGAIN!

THANKS FOR THE COMMENT ON THE HORSES, THINK THEY ARE PART OF A WALLPAPER SERIES? DIDN'T COME FROM THE ORIGINAL SITE, SO NOT SURE...

I didn't realize the sides were becoming flattened when resizing. But I looked back on my computer at a few others I made, and resized,, and you're rite. The sides aren't as round as they should be. I think I need to get better globe & base tubes. Unless it's soley because of the re-sizing
Anyway here is a few more tutorials I had to end up using, before I could actually understand, lol :D :D :D
    Very nice work Uguel!
I love all the art here! Very nice!

HandsOff, They are all yours now!!!! If you still wanna fix the pics that is.
I understand they may not be able to be fixed, but I will let you try if you want to. It is mostly sun glare, and red in the pictures.
I can't seem to do a darn thing with them
    There are 5 of them.
Let me know if you want them in email, or here.

    Uguel, or someone
No rush on this answer. I know I have asked a million here :D
Anyway, I need to know something about the sparklie names.
I have been doing them, but I see alot about the "stroke" everywhere I look. I am thinking "stroke" is the outline? Am I rite?
Anyway, I have been doing the sparklie names without the stroke. I think o_O
Can you tell me how to fill the outline first? If that is the stroke color? Sometimes I want the outline, black, or a different glitter color than the fill.
I may have already asked this. But I either forgot, or overlooked it somewhere.
Thanks and I don't know what I would do without you all here! I mean it, I would be lost!
    Thanks to all !

This is another of Rita and BBoss' pictures, LOL! I like BBoss, hope you aren't tired of mountains........don't know how anyone could do that, maybe in the covered wagon days, that was probably not much fun! :)

I don't use tubes much, because my whole computer hates them! LOL! Well, it starts and stops all the time while using them, so it takes all the fun out of it, then!

This is a little path with a bridge, I added some more grass, plants (weeds) a little boy, a cat (of course!) and quite a few butterflies, which my puter doesn't like either!! Too bad!
So, this little boy is in heaven in "Butterfly Gulch", pickin MOM some flowers or maybe DAD?? Didn't ask him! LOL!

The border is a plug-in, used the VP filter a little and that's all!

Thanks, to whomever fixed my Image Shack link! That was great!!

Can ya fix this one too?? LOL! It's already a thumbnail url......that's as far as I get......so far! :D

Keeping in mind, I haven't done this very long at all, this is what the pic looked like before...there are many other things you can do! I just don't happen to know them yet! LOL!

You can start right where we are, and read on your own....so if this looks like something you want to do, Uguel and the rest of us will be glad to have you join us!

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

I DECIDED THAT THE LITTLE BOY WAS LOST IN THE MEADOW THERE - SO I CUT THE PIC DOWN ALOT AND WHEN I TRIED TO DUPLICATE THE BORDER FRAME........AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE END RESULT..........DIDN'T SAVE IT IN PSPIMAGE EITHER! MY BAD!

SO, UGUEL OR ELDAR DO EITHER ONE OF YOU KNOW A WAY TO DUPE A BORDER FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER?? I LIKE THE BORDER ON THE LEFT (YOUR LEFT) BUT, JUST COULDN'T GET IT TO MATCH?

SHOULD I HAVE JUST CUT THE OLD ONE OFF? (SINCE I DIDN'T SAVE IT IN PSPIMAGES.)

KINDA OUT OF MY DEPTH HERE! I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOME WAY OF DOING THAT?

THANKS, I DID A SCULPTURE BORDER IF THAT HELPS WITH JAMA3D HEDGE BORDER?

Thanks Marja, yours are great too. Marvellous what you achieved in such short notice. :) Who would have thought that?
Nice program and free since Google acquired it.
I've also been following another on its progress, namely FastStone Image Viewer. It's still in Beta, but it shows a lot of promise and free too. :D
You're welcome, glad you found it. I wasn't sure it was included in version 8. :doubt:
Really very eye-catching globes Uguel.
    :D :D :D
Love the horse picture with the blended horses behind.
Sounds like a really interesting app to make icons for Palm too. Looking forward to your next Spotlight. ;)
This morning he went back to school, so I think the worst is over. Thanks for your concern.

Why not contract and redo the borders for that picture?
    Selections > Select All
Selections > Modify > Contract (choose the pixels - ex.: 15)
    Selections > Invert

and start all over for the borders only. ;)

Several ways are possible to do it, I just like this one.
It's also described in this thread to make a nice effect: Just Play'in - (BeetleBosses PSP Learning thread). :)
My pleasure Marja. No, you didn't post that one.
Made the border with the Eye Candy (not free) Fire Green Slime effect.
Be sure to play with the other features too. ;)

well, by looking at the sides of the original globe it does look real
circular at first... but I noticed that it flattened a bit after resizing and I think
this is normal for we always loose a bit of quality after resizing.
Nevertheless, I found it was a good tutorial to start with. :)

I went to both links you gave here and I really liked the first one! :)
So yes, I might do it this week! :D

    Right on! :)
And the fill is the colour you put inside. ;)

So as you can see in post#1093, the stroke was set to 2,00.
The higher you go, the thicker the stroke and the lower
you go, the thinner the stroke. See example.
