Marja your last picture is also very beautiful.
It looks like the Autumn in Canada or in the East. ;)

    Here's a simple one.
    A cat opera! :)

Here is the error, when I try to use the VIM sparkles. The next picture below, is the error when I try to use Xero sparkles. This only happens if I try to put in sparkles after I put text in.

Here is the second one when I try to use Xero sparkles. Also I used Animation Shop to add the text, no frames. Then I reopened it in Paint Shop. That's the only way for now, that I know how to change the text color. I can't find mine in Paint Shop. :D :D :D :D

    My pleasure.
It's a great animated GIF Sonya.
Thanks Marja. I was thinking about a girl dancing, the way the stars and planets do their eternal dance in space.
As for the transparancy I just choose Selections > Select All > Modify > Contract (20 pixels) and afterwards I invert the selection. Applied a Gaussian blur and selected Effects > 3D Effects > Inner bevel (factory defaults).
    LOL Very nice :)
I like that one very much.

I just tried it with both filters you mentionned and it did not occur...BUT...
I remember that it DID something similar to me a couple of weeks ago
when I was starting with PSP9 and it was like that only when I wanted
to write a simple text in my pic. I disable "remember text" (see the Text Entry window in the sreenshot) and did not have any problem since then. Also, to the question "..the following changes are needed to proceed with your Text action: the selection must be defloated" , click "ok".

Here the settings I have when applying the VM sparkles
    and the Xero sparkles.

...as you can see "remember text: is not checkmarked in the little dialog window.
Let's hope that this might help to solve your problem. And sometimes if you see
that window popping up (see screenshot below), click on "ok".

Thank you Uguel ! Here it is! I am thinking I have to use the "dropper" and the "fill" to change the text color in PSP ? :D I may be working on my sparklie name later tonight! :)

...also I noticed that your text options are not displayed so
it would be handy if you can see the options. In order to
do so, click on one of the little black arrows in the text
menu until you can see all the settings like I have here...
    See screenshot

    you're welcome! :)

Yes, if you want to change the colour of your text, you can use
the Flood Fill Tool but if you want to put sparkles in it with..let's say...
Xero filter or VM filter, you do not have to use the flood fill tool.
The filter will apply the change itself or without the need of any other tool.

Hi, Here is the button that I found (sort of) like in the picture of yours, and the options(I clicked the black arrow button to the far right) I don't see any other arrows, . Are my text options there? :D I just don't have a clue what the text options look like :D :D I would like to have them open :) Thanks

I think these are my text options. I just clicked the big A, the A at the bottom left, and they showed up, LOL :D

    glad you found it!!! :D
hey, if for any reasons you do not see the text mode options when clicking on the big A in the tools palette, and that even the little black arrows do not show at all in the menu, remember that you can do (F4) or you go to the Menu> View> Palettes> and then click on Tool Options. Then you will have the text options again ;)

Thanks Eldar and Uguel, for your compliments on the picture I heavily manipulated, would never claim to have painted the universe!! :D

Can someone tell me how I can get the "materials" box open in PSP? It is like the one I had open in the picture, to the far right, in post # 958. I closed it, and I don't know how to get it back, LOL :D Here is the link to # 958

    Hi Cochise,
As for your problem I think you associated every picture format to PSP.
Open PSP and go to File > Preferences > File Format Associations
and uncheck the boxes you don't want to associate to PSP. :)

I hope that helps get rid of your annoying problem. ;)

Edit: Sorry misread your post.
You'll have to go to your Explorer and choose Extra > Options to assign the format to another program, instead of PSP.
Or you can assign the format in your other program. :D
