    My pleasure Sonya. ;)
Glad you like it. I've only installed it once, so I know it's not so difficult to work with.
You mean your username? I wanted to use 'Eldar', but it was taken. :doubt: :D
Hey, you found it. It's easy to make one like that, but it gives you a nice picture.

Marja, did you find the information on the background eraser helpfull enough to get started?

Got to run again, so till later. ;)

Wow! Things move fast in this forum! There are pages of new pictures. I Love Uguels golden frames (about four pages back!)

I have been trying to make icons and it's very frustrating to spend an hour working on something 20 pix by 20 pix, then when your done you cant make out any details! I like blowing it on big pictures and having at least a big mess to show for my efforts. This is my interpretation of gigantic space beetles.

Tomorrow, its back to icons again :-(

Wow, marvellous interpretation. Is that also a filter?
Is it that difficult to make icons?

Here's another design of cats. I tried to make a little bit more fantasy, like in the 'Never ending story'. Loved that movie. :D

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

it is for me. my 'technique' is not adapted for it. if what i am working on is small, i usually zoom in close so I can see better. with icons i usually find when i zoom out the detail is gone. 32x32 is easy. 48x48 is simple. But 20x20 is a nightmare. Most of your better icons are actually different icons for different colors and sizes (i'll show you what I mean). However there are some excellent ones that are not.

I don't know how to make the multi-version icons, though I do know how to view them. its sort of a weird concept to one who never knew they existed!
    Check them out.

P.S. BTW i was back to using KPT3 again with its 'video feedback mode' for the main effect. I love that plugin because it is so old that i actually used it with a x386 machine in windows 95...and it worked just fine! I'm kind of a KPT fan even though they are so antiquated. KPT3 came out in 1995. I am pretty sure there is a KPT 1.0 that came out i 1992, though I have never seen it. 3 is my favorite, though 5, 6, 7, and convoler are good too. Okay, so much for history.

I know exactly what you mean. Had to make some Palm icons before, so you know how tiny they can be.
Normally I zoom in at 500.
Most of our icon makers are referring to Blender. They were also referring to Elysiun. Previously we had a manual on how to make beautiful 3D icons, but it was lost when our forum was relocated. I'll see if I can find it back.
Maybe you should take a peek. ;)
    KPT3? Don't know anything about it. o_O

    Hi Sonya! :)

    First, welcome to the thread!
I am sure that you will LOVE Paint Shop Pro ;)

When I make sparkled animations I first start by downloading a glittering
.gif. There are a few places on the internet that offer them for free like the one I gave here....see link below. Here are the main steps I follow: First, I open the glitter in Jasc Animation. Once it is opened you will notice that the glitter has several frames. They usually consist of 3 frames...and I export each frame one by one in Paint Shop Pro and with the Fill Tool I fill my empty text with each of them. So I will end up with 3 different text frames. When I am finished I export them into Jasc Animation and I have them play in it.

In order to get familiar with glittering animations. I give you the link
of a good tutorial that will guide you step by step through the process.
I know that you have Ulead gif animator and it would be difficult to export
them directly into Paint Shop Pro but still, I am sure that you can highlight
one frame at a time and save them separately on your desktop and then
you can open them one by one into Paint Shop Pro. And once you finished
working on it in PSP, you open it in Ulead and have it play in there.

    Hope this help!

    Hey, thanks HandsOff! :)
Right, you always lose details when resizing...
how about starting with a pic that has 20x20 pixels already,
increase the view 5 to 7 times and then creating a fresh pic in it? o_O
...sorry I just saw what you wrote in post #826

Nice images HandsOff & Eric!!! :)

Also, that's it ! :D I absoultley have to have Photo Shop 9. LOL All I have is Photo Shop 8. :( I can't buy it off the internet,(no credit card thank God) so I will have to go to a store to get it. Does anyone know where I can buy it? And about how much it costs?

I would like to see that manual. :)

....My latest pics, I just add a li'l water colour effect
in this one. It consisted of 2 layers, the original pic
+ the duplicated layer with a water colour effect reduced
    to 12 pixels opacity.

    another one... :)
I found 3 cats that I cut and pasted over a blue night sky.
Then I applied a navy blue mask around it and saved it as
    a .jpg.

I will send you a screenshot on how I proceed
during the day because I have to log off soon.

    You mean Paint Shop9, right?
In Canada, prices range from 80 to 140$
I use to find them in office equipment stores. ;)

...you might have a look at this link too ;)
They offer PSP7 at a very low price. I have Paint Shop Pro7 (French version)
And I can do most of the things people do with version 9.

Thanks Uguel, although I would have preferred to find another cat tube (= Egyptian).
Maybe next time I'll make them myself. :)
Already found one back, but most is about Constructor and Blender. For the other manual I'll have to ask at the developer if he still has it saved somewhere. o_O
Interested in first manual, just send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you. (PDF)
Nice pics and me too I like the last one best.
I bought mine at 99$ online (still a lot less then buying Euro :D) , but you can find it in most software stores or even order it through them.

Oh ... before I forget here you can find some official Corel Paint Shop Pro tutorials. :D

    Hi elder,

KPT3 is Kai's Power Tools. KPT has a very confusing nomenclature. its parent company is metatools, corel, metacreations, procreate, and maybe one or two more!

my kpt3 is by metatools. i gave up...and file them under Kai.

BTW, I have saved the logo's of many of my favorites (KPT included) for my future project to immortalize them on a collage and use it for wallpaper.

I guess that's kind of weird isn't it?

Well, i am what i am.

No, no! I didn't mean to give you that impression. I meant that I saved screen shots of them so that one day I can piece them all together in one big collage...I vaguely have the idea of using the plugins to embellish their own logo's. It will probably look very funny.

i did a new beetles version, a water beetles.

This one is a picture made up entirely of a small number of tiffs. a few bamboo leaves, a few rocks, a couple shrubs and a few flower things. they are "sprayed" on so it looks like there are lots, but they are clones that in some cases have been resized. its done with an old plugin called photospray. I guess you can do the same thing by hand, but I prefer just point and shoot!

Wow! Alot going on here!! Kinda still getting my strength back, sorta. :(

But I did a simple one using borders, VPhotographer filter, enhanced the edges, chisel feature, there are three borders, I was trying to make each one different and used a spiky halo in the frame...I am not too pleased, I would have like the spike -iness (word?) on the frame to be more dramatic... but I like the pic, so ...?

Again, Uguel, the settings? I know I should write them down, I will start - for now I have kinda been just DOing it! LOL! And taking my chances! Well..OK, I will start remembering to write them down!

HandsOff! I have heard of Kai's Power Tools and have seen some beautiful work with them used! I love your picture, I am with you, if I tried to draw that.. this forum would be as old as the Roman one. I wonder if there is an equivalent for PSP or PHotoShop? Do you know! Great work, your water beetles are soo colorful! Great work! They could be used- er, without the legs of course.:) for ornaments don't you think?

Eldar, great fantasy interpretation!! I also loved that movie, a wonderful story, have watched again and again!! I remember that scene well! I saw a few good tubes of Egyptian cats, I will try to find them. I also HAVE a pic of two, in black and white, would you like to have a copy?

I am glad you are joining us Sonya!! You sound so excited, hope you have lots of fun with your PSP!!

Uguel, THANKS!!!!! Finally a glitter tut that is simple with the instructions, saved it to finally make something that sparkles!! AND for telling us how to do it without Animation Shop!! I am excited about it!

Your cat pictures are great! The water color looks sooo - like you water colored it yourself!! You always do beautiful work!

Brad!! I am disappointed, I didn't even have to torture with excessive PMs to get the answer? What's the catch, buddy?!? Likin the Glowing Edges...and your filters!

This looks like a very productive crowd, I better take a bunch of Echinacea and get to work! :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, hope the kids are better, Eldar!! How is Sophie, Brad??
