    Hi,

Google recently released Chrome 6.x, and with SafeOnline enabled (using prevx full), I'm unable to load pages about 60% of the time. If I disable Prevx fully, I have no page loading issues. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've also tried lowering the protection slider to low to see if that made a difference, but it didn't help.

Is Chrome 6 is still in the Beta stage? And if that's the case it could be the problem as Prevx doesn't support Browser Beta's only when they are released. Have a look at this thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=280453 and this one: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1735492&postcount=209

    It's a stable. Not a beta.

Prevx' functionality is broken with new version. The protection is more often than not disabled and no "green icon" is showing. I'm surprised because the beta's been out for a few months. Prevx team has had A LOT of time to prepare for this, be it a beta or not, it (the beta) still contains the same core for current version. First time I'm actually disappointed in Prevx.

    Bad, bad.

It's odd because SOL is working great with beta 7.0.503.0 here :doubt:

Actually no, it doesn't. Chrome has changed significantly throughout the beta behind-the-scenes and the integration that SafeOnline has within the browser is highly dependent on idiosyncrasies. We'll be looking into adding support for the new version, but we still must take the approach of prioritizing protection by popularity. While the newest "hot off the presses" version of a browser might have additional features, there will be many extensions/components which still don't work when released.

SafeOnline doesn't sit in the browser at all, rather, it sits outside and analyzes the browser from a "bird's eye view" and therefore is subject to idiosyncrasies in the browser.

It's not just Chrome - I started noticing the same behavior from Firefox 3.6.x as well as Chrome 6 over the weekend. IE 8 appears to be functioning correctly.

It would be worthwhile saving a scan log by clicking Tools - Save Scan Results and sending it to us at report@prevxresearch.com so that we can take a closer look :)

Already submitted to PrevX Support - just verified that SOL protection works under the latest version of Opera, for what it's worth.

It seems I was wrong then. I take back my unconsidered statement. But still, I am having issues with Chrome 6; the good old problem. Green icon sometimes turns blue (meaning I can freely take printscreens or do whatever I like). It's just not a graphical bug.

We should have improved support within the next release - when we get the next beta out, it would be worth taking a look to see if it improves your experience :)

yeah, i noticed this as well. which is sort of amusing because opera isn't anywhere near as popular as chrome. i prefer opera anyway, but the issue w/chrome was more an observation than anything else.

if it's working with 7.0, i guess i can just enable the dev-branch in chrome again.

Just to see if I understand this issue correctly. I really want to give Google Chrome a good trial run but Prevx 3 is not handling Google Chrome correctly??...  If this is true this is rather bad news...:cautious:

I switched to Firefox to avoid any issues, as I am having serious problems with Prevx at the moment. SO is a lot more stable in that browser I understand after observing it.

Most Chrome users are having no problems at all (myself included) but there are some users who have had complaints and we're working on correcting these.

I'd say it's worth a try to see if it works properly for you - if not, let me know and we can investigate closer :)

This may not be a problem caused by Prevx. I had a similar problem with Chrome sometimes freezing. Disabling SafeOnline did not help. The suggestions here worked for me and many other people:

"AUTO DISCOVERYING PROXY: The "auto detect proxy" function of Win 7 may be causing lag for some users. To disable it, go to Wrench->Options->Under the Hood->Change Proxy Settings. Click "LAN settings" and uncheck "automatically detect settings". Additionally click "Settings" (if it’s not grayed out) and uncheck "Automatically detect settings" here too. Hit OK until you get back to the browser. Test to see if the problem has gone away."

Worked perfectly for me. But will unchecking this auto-detect cause some other problems?
