According to the manual for TI 8.0, the swap file, pagefile.sys, is not supposed to be copied into the image file, but when I explore the image, there it is.

Is there a way to not have it copied? It is taking up about 700 meg of space for no reason.

    thanks,

What you are seeing is a placeholder for the pagefile, taking up no space even though it says 700 MB. To confirm this you could increase your page file size to say 2000 MB and re-image. The image should be the same size as your present image.

I've done this test on prior builds and the image size is the same.

No, actually what TI does is filling the page and hibernation files with zeroes during backup, this way compression shrinks them to almsot nothing.

    Hello dezrat1242,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Caranthir is correct, Acronis True Image automatically detects Windows hibernation and swap files and will not include them in the image. Skipping these files makes the backup image smaller, but you see it when explore the image.

    Thank you.
