    Thanks Manny,

Are there any services that you would limit...ie, services.exe, taskmgr.exe, werfault.exe, iexplore.exe, explorer.exe. I don't mean deny everything just specific limitations. I use my computer to test malware and want it to be extremely protected against process manipulation.

I have already made limitations to CMD, wscript, cscript, rundll32.

Any others that you would limit?

    Thanks again,

    Toby

I don't test malware but if you do than perhaps you want the firewall/system to operate normally to see if it catches your malware. I would think the point of protection is to make the system more useable without disabling needed services. What is needed certainly is a personal definition though.

Disabling some services does offer some protection but overall it impacts useability more. I don't usually make recommendation to disable services because of that but you can find many suggestions on the net. Obviously those with know vulnerabilities are another matter. One well know site that offers such advice is black viper. He's done probably the best overall study on this issue with services: http://www.blackviper.com/

You probably know this, but for others here, it's different to limit an application like FF or IE to not allow them certain privileges using OP 7 or OA for that matter and to disable MS services you don't need.

2 services I always disable are time (my pc knows the time) and Netbios as I don't share resources.

The less phoning out the better and the fewer rules we need to filter through.

For me ( not others) it is an issue not only of security but

    1) Ownership, the PC is mine
    2) Privacy by avoiding phone outs

    Your view may be different:D

I have a question. Is there a way to import a list or something that includes all fullscreen aplications in the computer so it doesn't ask anymore ?

No. The firewall detects when an application is attempting to use full screen. The only options are to either turn it off totally in Settings > General or individually for each application in its Options tab.

    Hi twl845:

What is your experience so far with OP FW Pro 7.x?

    What do you like?

    What do you not like?

Are you waiting on any tickets? I know I am.

    Hi Escalader,
OP FW Pro v7 has performed flawlessly for my needs. As you know, I am not a techie so all the automatic features are appreciated. I basically let it do its thing. The only thing I dislike is like I mentioned, there is no notification of upgrades in a pop up like you might find at my browser Firefox. I only become aware from reading Wilder's posts. Maybe I missed something.
I am not waiting on any tickets. :)
