I am trying to help a friend with his computer. Windows XP Home Edition. His was having a lot of problems. I have managed to get most everything working except. There are several E Mails in his Outlook Express Inbox that I cannot delete.I even tried re-installing OE. You can create ,send and receive mail but the old ones can't be deleted. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but all the (un-deletable) E Mails were addressed to undisclosed recipients.

With OE closed, delete the Inbox.dbx file, which sounds like it's corrupted.
Doing so will cause friend to lose everything in his Inbox.
He may also have a corrupted Deleted Items.dbx file.
If needed, with OE closed, delete that file too.
    Thanks, Google.

In XP, dbx files are marked as hidden.

To view these files in Explorer, you need to enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start/Control Panel/Folder Options/View.

On my XP Home, the files are in

C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express... (where {GUID} is a string of characters consisting of digits and letters).

    Excellent!
Curious to know, did deleting just the Inbox.dbx file work, or did you also have to delete the Deleted Items.dbx file?
