    This is a good start for disc partitioning software!

    D/l the demo, and during the install OS Selector crashes and the install is aborted. Error file attached - hope it's useful.

    Trying to unstall on a new Win XP partition. The disc also has a Win 98SE partition, created using PartitionMagic. The MBR of this disc would have been 'fixed' during the format/install of XP yesterday. There is also an empty FAT 32 partition awaiting its OS. Really don't want to go back to PartitionMagic.

    Hello DrTeeth,

    Thank you for your interest in Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    Could you please do the following?

    - Launch the product installation file;

    - Right-click on the "Install Acronis True Image" button and select "Extract";

    - Select the path for extracting the component and click "Save";

    - Go to the Run prompt (Start -> Run) and issue the following command:

    msiexec /i msi-name /l*v log-name

    Where msi-name is the name of the file you extracted in steps 2-3 and log-name is the path and the name to the log file you want to save the output to;

    - Reproduce the problem and collect the log file created during the installation.

    Please also do the following:

    - Press the Start button, choose Run, type "drwtsn32" and hit Enter;
    - In the dialog that appears check the "Log File" and "Crash Dump" paths, then click the OK button;
    - Reproduce the problem;
    - Pick up the user.dmp and drwtsn32.log files in the directory specified at step 2.

    Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    Sorry, love to help, but it's more trouble than it's worth. Sticking with PartitionMagic for the present.
