How much does this differ from the Opera Developer's version that I just happen to be growing quite fond of lately.

I always like Opera and it was my go-to from Windows 98SE forward and for good reason. This browser sings to the tune I like best, SPEED!

Hmm, I'm still on 47.0.2631.39 and it shows me no updates available. Has not been the build number 48 withdrawn from the update channel?

Pretty fast update. Stable version 48 was not more than a few days old. Btw, an unofficial x64 build of Opera exists. In upgrading, pay attention to the folder the correct build of Opera gets installed into.

You'll have to manually update Opera when a new build comes out. The difference between the x86 and x64 Opera builds is the number of megabytes for the differing builds.

Thanks for the info. I always keep Opera at my side when Slimjet/Google Chrome is nutty. One question, If I have a portable version of Opera here, can i install over the portable version and keep all my extensions?

Is the VPN working OK? I think it may come in handy because I want to watch a certain TV show that's not available in Holland.

I don't run VPN. You can test it to see if related bugs are fixed. Or wait for the next version.

I have just tested it, and it seems to work just fine, I could watch the show. So I will now use Opera for certain sites. I have to say kudos to them for implementing a VPN, and I've read that Opera is becoming more popular over here in Holland, because of the VPN.

BTW, I've read that some say that Opera's VPN isn't really a VPN, but more of a HTTP proxy, can anyone explain this?

Thanks, so you don't get all benefits when it comes to privacy, but I suppose all data is still being encrypted? But anyway, I just tried surfing with VPN enabled and it was very slow, that's exactly the reason why I never used it before.

VPN should be run on an unencrypted public network. If you have an encrypted home network, VPN is redundant.
