Opera Dropping Presto In Favor Of Webkit?

    They don't want it to be?
    Open source presto would be awesome, the community is salivating for something like this, high-quality proprietary code don't go free so often. Heck I would myself venture in an eventual open source presto browser, i would be glad to help the project because i don't want presto to go away so easily...

    In my most optimistic mode I like to think that you may be right. My guess is that it will use Chrome extensions. cleanPages on Opera is superb. Plus Opera would at least be as secure as Chromium.

    Unfortunately I have a feeling it will be more like Safari for Windows ... :doubt:

    Groan. You had to burst my bubble. Safari for Windows is the worst browser since AOL.

    Sorry. I'm in a 'glass half empty' place on this Opera issue. I feel like I'm losing an old friend. :'(

    SweX you're probably the only person on the Internet who runs Safari for Windows successfully. Maybe it just works really well with XP? If you are still running XP of course.

    I miss XP. I will miss Opera (I even miss Safari for Windows a little bit). "We fear change"! :D
