    blacknight,
    You're welcome.
Are you using Opera 12.17 or 12.18 on Windows10?

I run as limited user. And forgot to run as admin for the installation. And got very surprised it ended up in App data.
Should i uninstall and reinstall properly?

I would uninstall and reinstall it (to Program Files) :)

regular for all programs where UAC was denied -> user profile folder instead program files.
has no disadvantage for user, but for all users, have to install themselves.

I disable execution in user directories for security reasons. The user app data directory is only for configuration files. It is always better to have all executible files in predetermined locations with ACLs set appropriately.

That's what I thought - security - and that's why i didn't like it. OT: I never did ACL, don't quite understand it.

    Why v12.18 and not v46.0.2597.57?

For me it's bookmark management and editing site preferences. I just reviewed this thread - take a look at posts 8, 20, 36, 38, 40.

Thanks for your reply and your motives. But what I was asking, think is answered by this, correct?

Yes and No. I did try v4x (don't recall exactly which) and using it was really painful compared to the ease of setting site preferences and managing bookmarks in v12. There was even a place where I had to type or paste in a site address - I think it was for javascript settings. Clumsy. One right-click does it in v12. And bookmark management on the speed dial didn't impress me, nor did the bookmarks window. Just too rough to use.

nosquint for chrome or better opera
    https://addons.opera.com/de/extensions/details/nosquint-plus/

anything else click on the padlock in addressbar and set your choices.

the BMM for each browser type is different, it makes no sense to use an outdated and vulnerable software for convenience.

Not for convenience, for power and control, power over the overbloated web content that most browsers would feed us with no control over. There has never been an exploit for Opera Presto out in the wild since support ended, too few of us use it and we are mostly computer nerds of no interest to cyber criminals. There are far better targets out there.

I use them both, they are completely different browsers both called Opera. Opera Presto is in a class by itself, Opera Blink is a chromium browser with some nice features like a built in vpn/proxy.
