I don't care about any "privacy issues".... Chrome is fine with me. There is no such thing as "private" on the internet my friend.... ;)

    "Privacy issues"? Ha.

If Google wants to look at me browsing sports, news, games, and porn all day long in return for a clean, fast and functional browser, I'd say that's a great bargain. :D

    haha.

I'm using a portable version from:
    http://planet-chrome.de/

Version 4.0.201.1 with themes, extensions and bookmark sync is working well.

Seems they changed a lot. Can any one tell me how can I import my settings from previous version: Bookmarks, tabs, custom buttons, and most importantly wand passwords?

    Thanks

You must have some funny definition of clean, because I don't understand what you're saying at all...

Yes there is. all tho most people on the internet don't enforce it and make their activities private.

lol then you might as well install spyware on your machine as well.

What an ignorant comment. What would spyware offer me in return?

Besides, I made that post as a joke. Regardless of your opinions about Google, you'd have to be a crackpot of the tinfoil-hat variety if you actually believe that Chrome tracks the sites you visit. Programs like those are called spyware, and it's not something reputable companies resort to lightly.

Google's EULA is all the proof u need of tracking, read it. no conspiracy needed. and the new Google OS just makes me shudder and how much they can track with an entire OS...

personally i just dont like being used to categorize me for advertising as well as other personal info that is POSSIBLY being grabbed (look at Facebook if ud like an example of what i mean). and the part about the Google OS, well considering its an entire OS, the possibilites of being tracked would be endless, every file on your computer has the POSSIBILITY of being available to google for w/e use they want, not saying it will but the possibility is ther and considering how large Google is and how its everywer, that makes me worried of too much power in 1 group. the main reason it makes me worried is mainly because of Google's history of tracking (u can search online if ud like more proof)

maybe its just a personal thing but i dont feel comfortable with them having all that information at their finger tips.

Google Chrome does track what web sites you. I installed it when it first came out and found out by first hand experience thru my firewall logs that every time you load a web site it connects to google. Then 2 weeks later I read about it confirming my suspicions.

What firzen771 said, I personally don't like other entities tracking and storing all of my browsing habits and online activities I prefer it remain private.

Javascript alone reveals a whole host of information about your computer, ie OS operating system, date time, screen resolution, you can check it all out here. http://browserspy.dk/ And with google chrome installed it can see all your private files and folders. it can send any information it wants to, to google about your OS and what you have on it.

So going back on topic this is why I would recommend Opera 10 over google chrome.

Let's see, I do believe it's "opera 10 final"....and while a little leeway is given, if alternate browser discussion is desired, a new thread would be the way to go.

I would have to say that your ISP knows everything you do anyway, so what's all this concern about Google? Maybe a new thread is in order, yes.

Sorry, back to Opera. I plan on giving Opera a try tonight. It seems to keep getting better and faster with each release...

Opera used to be my favourite browser but I switched to FF at about the same time I reverted to Windows - reformed Machead. I managed to escape the Cult of Steve so I guess I should be thankful :D

Might give Opera another chance but can't live without my addons...

Nobody even knows where half of Google's datacenters are, they are purchased/rented under fake shelf companies and all Google says is "Privacy is Important to us". My ISP is far better controlled and regulated.

Anyhow, downloaded Opera 10 Portable yesterday from here: http://www.opera-usb.com/operausben.htm

All working great, not as fast as my Firefox setup but it's running great and "very" stable. Opera has always been the number #1 browser on my phone and PDA, but until they get the functionality of Firefox extensions it has to stay #2 on my desktop unfortunately.

I love how the conspiracy crackpots never fail to jump to conclusions at every little thing, and can never offer any solid reply when you ask them for evidence.

It's also funny how they think they're important enough that Google has a vested interest in tracking them down. Guys, you're just nameless and faceless statistics, get over it.

With that said, I guess this would be my last post in this thread regarding this topic, since a moderator has seen fit to intervene, and the best way to deal with paranoid crackpots remains to ignore them.

Be careful. I am better at alliterations than you are.

Joking aside, a little more respect for fellow forum folks would be appreciated.
