Within hours....yet another snapshot release !

    *NIX family focus

    Opera 10.60 Alpha Build 3403/8366/6347

Hope all of you aren’t tired of testing just yet. Because mere hours after releasing the previous one, here is yet another Opera snapshot (YAOS) for testing!

For Mac, they had have fixed a significant SVG drawing/animation regression from Peregrine, and optimized the start-up sequence to make it faster. Two crashers introduced with 10.60 Alpha 1 have also been fixed.

For FreeBSD and Linux, they have numerous font fixes, improvements to X11 mode, and the KDE file selector freeze is fixed.

    http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/show.dml/

WARNING: This is a development snapshot of Opera. It is released for testing purposes, and there may be serious bugs and unfinished features.

Re: Opera 10.60 Alpha - The Fastest Browser on Earth gets Faster !!!

As Opera 10.60 1s a Alfa I have it as a seperate install Not a replacement for Opera 10.53! Even if I replaced Opera 10.53 with Opera 10.60 Alfa I keep a copy of the .exe of the last version incase I had to revert to the previous version if it has a problem. I pay a penality in space on my HD...but it is worth it I think not to scramble to find the previous version at that second when you find out that you need a new copy :isay: .

This is a good practice. All my Opera builds are separate installs and I'll decide to delete any previous builds after running the present build for some period of time with no problems. Even then I still keep the last previous build always as a backup.:D

newest build from 6/3 is very nice. BUT it is having a issue with avast wanting to shut it down during install for some reason.. im not sure why ive let avast know as well as im going to let opera beta team know.. it also for some reasom if i choose not to shut it down and to reboot causes my desktop icons to get set to hidden ive reproduced this many times on 2 systems... otherwise the newest build rocks..

Try turning off the behavior scanner in Avast and see if this issue goes away.

500 % faster as Firefox - for sure :D But everytime I install the worlds fastest mega super browser it's slower than any other browser

Maybe they are the benchmark kings, but in real life Opera is just a slow browser :gack:

Installed the new Alpha build 3409 and all is working well as usual.:D

No crashes (yet) after running this speed-blazing browser for a day now and don't expect any crash as per most if not all previous builds as I always install as a separate clean install.;)

For those using Opera on Linux: can anyone confirm that Opera refuses to remember its window state, and will not remain maximized if you close and reopen it?

    Thanks.
