That guy is stretching it a bit. That's like telling an Apple stock holder not to have cashed in his shares 5 years ago, to send his kid to college. Shares that he made a huge profit on. As long as you get more fiat currency value when you sell/purchase, than you put in, there is no complaining. "Grandpa, I can't believe you sold your Coca Cola shares in 1980, to buy your house - cash...you'd be a millionaire today!" :D

True, but who in their right mind keeps their money outside of the TC Container on their machine, and the TC'd USB backup? :D Apparently, quite a few. My "No Cloud" policy looks better and better each day :D

    That's very true.

But you do need an exchange account in order to trade, I think. And there are probably balance requirements as with other trading platforms.

On a map! The US and China are buying like crazy!

But be careful. The site is a memory hog. It almost totally stalled this poor VM, sucking about 1.6 GB in a minute or so

Yeah, if you want fiat currency, out, you need an exchange. I don't remember any minimums when I used Mt. Gox though. Even then, transfer small amounts and send to Dwolla the minute they hit. That way, if you get taken, at least it was small. I'm sure there is a reverse Bitcoin.local - trade BTC for cash. I just stay in the BTC economy, no need for cash. At this rate, I'll have VPN service for life :D
