Does aynone know of any online calloration software that would allow coworkers to share documents and ideas and verify schedules and track projects? Of course free or low cost is ideal, and since it may involve trade secret information security is of great concern. It is a lot to ask, but I would bet that something like that probably exists.

    Hi, :)

I would like to suggest three possibilities:
    (1.) Microsoft Office 365

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/compare-plans.aspx

A small business plan (P1) is $6 per month per user. There is a 30-day free trial.

    (2.) Huddle.com

    http://www.huddle.com/

This is a cloud-based solution. However, it may be too expensive for your needs. There is a 14-day trial. If this looks like a solution that you'd like, you can always ask for a price quote based on your particular needs.

    (3.) EGroupware

There is both an enterprise solution and an open-source project solution. There is a free open source version and a free enterprise version. The free enterprise version is the Community edition.

    (a.) Open Source Solution

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/egroupware/

(b.) Community edition vs. Enterprise edition

I have used the Huddle and MS Office solutions in the past. I have not used EGoupware. When I was working on a collaborative project, EGroupware was suggested to me as a solution to our needs. We chose to use MS Office Professional Plus with Sharepoint instead, as we each owned a license for it already.

Wikipedia has an interesting list of collaborative software solutions. You might want to check it out.

Good luck on your project! I hope you find the best software for you needs!
