first off id like to say hi to everybody who frequents this forum.

eMule, for those of u who are unaware, is a napster like protocol for transferring files p2p style. to get eMule running optimally, u must forward X ports to gain the most efficient connection to other users.

i was wondering, is it possible to have Online Armour block all unspecified ports that eMule is attempting to open and still have optimal connection to its servers and peers using ONLY the specified "forwarded" ports?
why is it that when specifying X ports in the eMule setup, does eMule open and use a number of completely different unspepcified ports for connection?

ive also allowed full access rights to eMule during the install process of Online Armour and specified the TCP/UDP rules. unfortunately they are constantly adding these random ports and not sticking to my specified "forwarded" ports.

is this an eMule issue, Online Armour issue, or maybe not even an issue at all as it could be normal behaviour for either software?

any suggestions and opinions are greatly welcome.

    cheers, marty ;)

    Hi Marty

Online ARmor, by design, automatically sets up ports that applications you allow to connect to the internet request. If you want to finely control it, turn off "auto allow programs trusted programs to connect to the internet" and "auto configure trusted programs"
