    That's strange.

Online Armor does not use LSP - it is possible that the driver is part loading or something, but seem unlikely.

Please boot to safe mode, and run the uninstaller.

If it's a driver or service problem or any other autorun problem, you can use Sysinternals Autoruns to disable or remove it. But be careful! Autoruns can be a stairway to heaven.

    Cheers

    Great. Do you know when?

"longer" as in "later"? Is is so hard to do?

Can you say now exactly *when* the FW starts working in its present iteration?

    Thanks.

Hard to predict. There is a new beta out know. Just depends.

It may come down to a matter of priority. Again bare in mind, new features like this probably won't be in the free version.

The new beta doesn't cover the slow boot speed? What does it cover?

OK, that sounds reasonable, to put it into the paid product rather than the free. If the FW and HIPS are good enough, I'd be willing to pay for the complete package as long as it keeps working forever or has a minimal re-up once a year. That sounds fair to me; to keep the developers and their families fed and clothed. :)

OK, I'll check it out the newest beta. I *do* have extraordinarily long boot ups and boot downs since I installed OA free.

    Do you have link?

Good question. On the "about" tab of the configuratoin menu it says OA Free 2.1.0.23

I guess the build would be 23?

Where can I get build 27?

Every betatester have. But I think this is a matter of a policy not to publish neither to provide to the indiciduals beta links until the opposite is clearly allowed by the vendor. So the only one who can provide a link is Mike Nash.

Btw, can new builds be installed *over* older ones, or should a complete uninstall/reinstall procedure be done?

    Thank you.

As for me, I install new version over the current (recently). There were the problems some time ago, but they seem to be solved.

Haha.. I have to laugh. I wish I read their requirements section.. I made the dumb assumption that AO was Vista compatible... so I purchased it. Oh well...

You would think by now new firewall releases would support Vista...

Vista support is on "to do" list as far as I know. But I can say nothing about the length of the list and about Vista position inside the list :)

    Greetings,

First of all thanks for the efforts on such a great firewall for the community, and congrats on the perfect score in the recent testing.

Now to all -- I was wondering if anyone has seen this. It's a bit of an oddball issue, but when OA Free is running in the background, and I run a full clean with CCleaner 2.02 using the default settings it installs with I immediately get a blue screen and the system reboots. When I shut down OA Free and run the same cleaning it goes through without a hitch. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I have just a single one. If you run an older tnan 2.1.0.23 version (which is current free release), you could try to change it to the most recent one. If not, then just ignore my post ;)

You might check the online armor forum, seems like this issue has been raised before.

    Peter,

Thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at the TallEmu forms as well.

    Thanks!

I am going to reinstall Online Armor Free, but I want to know what is causing the troubles with CCleaner? I have the newest version of CCleaner and didn't have any problems when I had OA Free installed, but I just want to make sure before I do reinstall it.

Troubles with CCLeaner as I recall was Escalader trying to block it/control it as part of his learning thread. I don't recall any actual problems.

Thanks everyone. I have been trying Webroot Firewall and it is a very fine program, but I think it is more than what I need for a Firewall and HIPS. I believe OA Free will be just fine for me, but I wouldn't mind hearing what others who have heard of or used Webroot and OA Free might have to say about the differences between the two programs?
