I too had issues with OA free and vba32, I would get a usbhub.sys related BSOD. If I can find a memory dump I will upload it.

Ok I think I found the dump(s)(renamed.log to be uploaded here), but maybe not as I don't have symbols configured(non-checked build) on this machine.

I hope these are the right ones, seems to be the right in the time frame.

Mike if it isn't let me know can try to dig a little more.

Ive just re-installed my OA paid for edition, and Im running it with Vba32 with no problems whatsoever.

It would appear that the free edition is the problem one!

The problem appeared in the last betas. It just seems free version has inherited beta problem because full release seems to have a lower version number than beta. I guess it will be fixed after full release will get updated.

    Yep :)

Also for the VB issue - we will have a new build in our beta area today which we'll be playing with. It, or the next one, will be released as an update to the paid version, and then to OAFree.

The older versions don't show this issue - but we will solve it and do a new release anyhow.

@delgado - if you like, as a paid OA user I can PM you a key to the newest OA build in the beta area if you like.

    Hi trjam,

OA has just gone nuts. From being installed on (relatively) few machines to being installed on massive amounts of machines.

New users are coming in with different computers, software and setups and so on and finding a couple of compatibility issues here and there that we had not previously seen. For the next 7-10 days the focus will be on ensuring that we address these issues promptly.

Quite honestly, the decision on when we start Vista will depend on what happens to Online Armor sales as a result of "the great experiment" of OA Free.

If our sales increase then I will move a guy (or two) over from other projects on to OA, and begin Vista quickly. If not - then we will probably start Vista early next year.

It will only request a dummy key if you provide an email address which is optional.

But I didn't provide an eMail address, so why would it still try to connect to the interneto_O

Maybe an option to decline from sending your trusted programs. Beyond that, if there is no need for activation, I am certainly interested,

    I will look friday.

It was connecting to the internet before it was even installed, so it would not yet be able to check for installed programs...

This may be "MS" installer. A check for sig? (verification of application)

That's possible I guess. So how does one install without i'net connection and the inability to verify the signatureo_O Sorry for all the questions, its just that I am frustrated with all these updated installers that keep failing. Seems like beta-testing to me...

I agree,.. I am personally pissed off with this need. Off line installation, certainly for such as a firewall is a need.

There is an issue in the current release installer that it still contacts the server (it should do this if you put in an email, but not if you don't).

Actually, what it should do is not contact the server at all - and do it post-installation if you opted in.

We ripped out the activation reasonably quickly - should have thought that part through a little more.

Yep it's tough having to put up with little problems given the high price of the product.

All the rest of the firewalls on the market can be installed off line?

When I do my installations I like to disconnect at the router until finished. That way I can config the app before doing any updates. With SAS and AntiVir I had that option. Once they were config'd per updating at a schedule, loading at boot-up, hiding splash-screens, etc, then I would reboot as needed and afterwards reconnect to the i'net and manually check for updates. This should not have been a problem as it was stated that an internet connection was not needed so I disconnected until I seen the router-lights flashingo_O

Yes I agree the product is free so I shouldn't complain, but if the free-version is as secure as the paid-version, there is nothing wrong with testing out the free instead of trial version. I don't need the advanced-mode and I already know how good KAV is. I'm hoping to purchase (or talk my wife into the purchase) before the year is out, so I'm not trying to "mooch a freebie"...
