Unfortunately, no matter how I tried I was unable to install the Free version. During the installation, it would ask for a license, which I of course don't have.

Read Tall Emu's support forum and found a similar situation in a thread, and it was recommended by Mike to download an updated .exe of the install - this didn't help either.

Back to Comodo for me. :(

Just download from our download page - activation and keys are no longer required.

    No, it's free :)

Please download from the Tall Emu download page - you'll get the free version with the fixed installer.

    Sorry for your troubles.

Am I reading this right?! Wow! Thanks so much, Mike! I personally appreciate this change in the installer! I've never had those reported 'bugs' in my setups. Big thanks again! :)

Yep, you are reading it right. We've been a little busy around here - but we do listen.

Is it $39.95 for 1 year or for a lifetime licence? :doubt:

Online Armor licencing works like this:

It is $39,95 for a perpetual licence of OA.
This includes 1 year of updates.

    Additional years updates are $14.95

Provided your updates are current, you are always entitled to the latest and greatest OA. When OA v3 comes out for example, there would not be an "upgrade fee" if you have a current update subscription.

If you don't take the extra updates - OA will continue to work, you just won't get updates.

The exception to this is Online Armor v1 --> v2. v2 was delayed (firewall, kernel mode) and so any licence for OA will upgrade to v2 - even if it has already expired.

The reason for this is many of our users purchased on the understanding that a firewall was coming soon - it took a bit longer, so we made the v1 to v2 update free for everyone just so nobody was disadvantaged by it.

Sorry if this was answered in the pages I haven't had time to read yet: does OA free or paid block inbound and outbound connections during boot up and down?

Hey look, the third download worked. Thanks for that. Now I have the opportunity to give OA free a shot.

That's strange, I just went to install OA-Free 2.1.0.23, and it still required activation. OA website was down and online-activation took almost 5 minutes to complete. Upon reboot, AntiVirClassic failed to load, so a 2nd reboot was needed.

I tried OA free but .... after the reboot my PC hung - rebooted again but invain :ouch: Is there any known issue with KAV6?

A safe mode reboot - subsequently the removal of OA free - and everything went back to normal :D

Shouldn't be a compatability-issue with KAV, that's what they use in OA+AV. (I've needed a 2nd reboot in every install of OA.)

I had exactly the same! I purchased OA, but out of curiosity, I tried OA Free to see if there was any difference. My Anti Virus was changed also to Vba 32, after that I couldnt even load up Windows; my machine just hung!
I had to take out OA in safe mode, then everything worked OK.

I must add that I didnt try the full version of OA, with Vba 32.

Vba 32 is not the culprit, as it works flawlessly with other firewalls.

Try it and let us know what was the result :D Maybe there is a difference although I doubt it...anyway you know the routine to set everything back to "normal" ;)

It logs the email address (if you provide one) and requests a dummy key. I am not sure why these few problems are now reported, but I suppose now OA is finding it's way on to more machines, we will start to see new problems .

As always - having problems? Wander by the forums, and we'll sort you out.
