if uve alredy got 20 months of ESET, just keep it and disable OA++'s AV.

Chamlin you can wait for a response in the topic you already created. Lets not derail yet another topic for it to only get locked.

During setup, does it offer the opportunity to skip the installation of the anti-v?

Haven't noticed such option but after installation you can disable any component you want.

Its an on execution only. A-squared is coming out with a-squared 5 and mamatu 3. Its adding X64 support and real time AV scanning. Mamatu 3 will also be using 64 bit and upgrading the behavior engine.

It runs 4 process and the total is anywhere between 16k-30k for all 4. Of course thats going to vary on what your doing at any given time. As fas slowing down browsing...I haven't noticed much of a difference. I had tried comodo 3 for a few days and that was very fast. OA slowed things down a little but I liked the GUI, Hips and firewall in OA better. Comodo was "noisey" and wouldn't remember alot of answers that D+ asked me. Personal preference really.

On my XP machine RAM use is about 20,000K for the 4 modules. I also found the Web Shield to be totally unacceptable- surfing slowed substantially (this was also the case with Avira's web shield).

    But all else was exceptional!

Yes, the RAM usage is OK, but avgate.exe doesn't drop below 110 MB virtual memory, though its RAM usage is below 1MB.

Well, I've been testing it for less than 12 hours still. It feels very light but adds up around100 MB to the Total Commit charge, almost the same as NIS 2010. My laptop is quite old - 512 RAM, P4, so I'm quite concerned with RAM usage. As to the Web guard, it slows down a bit, but no big deal, it did that when I had Online Premium as well. Slows the system more on update, at least for me.
Well it scans only on execute, not on access, so this also should complement to it being light.
