It was a study or forecast - these things have many variables. There are other types of social media than Facebook that are more "instant" driving at the insatiable quest for instantaneous gratification.

Many will still be using Facebook well beyond that date. With or without advertising and all else that is bundled with it.

I know it's just a forecast, but I've also seen other articles talking about the demise of Facebook, and I really don't see it happening any time soon.

    Definitely.

They are going to Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat and it is already happening.

I know some people that dont like Facebook anymore and they are moving on.

I see your point and I've heard of those people. Personally I have never met one. Sure I've seen friends who get crazy about Myspace/Facebook/Twitter at first but then after the honeymoon is over they usually become very casual users and some even stop using it altoghter.

But these are not Facebook replacements. They really don't work the same.

I can't help but think this poll includes third world countries that don't barely have internet access. If Americans only were polled, or the Japanese too I'd expect a higher number. Or maybe a large amount of elderly were polled.

If it was people in first world countries between the ages of 13-45 I'll bet it'd be closer to 75%
