You don't have to STOP if you've never STARTED. FB has to be the biggest waste of time in history.

Facebook has been known to censor/ban certain posts and images. Latest report is about 2 popular
conservative women who have been suspended because their content and brand has been determined
    "unsafe to the community."

Unsafe to the community? I wonder what they had wanted to say.

Facebook supposedly stopped sending notifications to the people who liked and followed their brand page.
They accused Facebook of discrimination and censorship based on their political views.

"...[Now it seems to hundreds of millions that] Anytime people want to contact each other or have an awareness of each other, it can only be when it’s financed by a third party who wants to manipulate us, to change us in some way or affect how we vote or what we buy,...In the old days, to be in that unusual situation, you had to be in a cult or a volunteer in an experiment in a psychology building or be in an abusive relationship or at a bogus real estate seminar.

But now you just need to sign onto Facebook to find yourself in a behavior modification loop, which is the con. And this may destroy our civilization and even our species...” *

I am not into FB, Instagram or Twitter. I have Mickey mouse accounts, not on my name. And for the most part, I think this things are bad. But I tell you something that makes them useful. When you live in a country that has a dictator and a repressive government (like the one where I live), social media becomes useful.

We had unrest in Nicaragua since April 18th, the highly repressive government during the first few days of the protests censured the few TV, Radio stations and newspapers that are not under their influence (the dictators family bought out most media outlets the past few years), so, between the 18th and the 21st of April, social media is all we had for videos and news about whats going on (other than state controlled media). After a few days, international pressure made him allow non state controlled media to open up, but still, people are posting all kind of stuff, news and videos in FB, etc, that otherwise we wouldn't get to see or know about. Is really amazing how useful this things can become, they become tools. Right now, the availability of social media is saving lives in Nicaragua.
